It kind of sounds like he really liked you and enjoyed the phone calls and online interaction but when it dawned on him that you were planning and expecting that he was going to visit and actually pursue the relationship, he got cold feet. I know it hurts but at least you can move on now. I would just be careful in the future about getting too attached to any one person and keep your options open. Talk to as many men online as you can to kind of get a feel for who is willing to take this a little more serious if you are indeed looking for that in the future. Good luck.

Ok. So I've been talking to this guy for the last 4 days or so. I met him on this website. We had so much in common, talked for hours on the phone, and he had even said he wanted to come visit me from WA. I live in FL. Everything is going good. We even talked about if it would be ok for the both of us to do a long distance dating relationship for now and see how things go. Then today, I get an email, not a phone call, but an email telling me that he has too much going on in his personal life right now, and has no time for me, and that he would love to pursue more, but can't. UM OK......You didn't have all this stuff going on in your life 4 days ago? I felt totally blown off. I know not all guys are like this, but enough with the head games already. I guess I just attract the jerks. Welcome to the club darlin' we have martinis on Thursdays....

Krimsa, I think you are right it's known as getting cold feet.
To the OP, what can you do? Move on in life and don't let that guy keep getting into your head. Learn from any red flags he may have shown you. Guys are jerks. I hate them too. I hope it goes better for you next time. |

Live and learn, take your time emailing and chatting, 4 days is way to soon to rush into a talk of a relationship especially with that sort of distance. Enjoy yourself getting to know people, but keep in mind that this is the internet and there are players and jerks out there. But if nothing else it's a great place to make some new friends. Well welcome first of all.
I can see someone getting frustrated over things, but one thing you have to keep in mind. You said you met this person 4 days ago and your talking about things either you really know if this would happen or not. Just my opinion, moving to fast on anything can run you into disaster. 4 days is not enough time to know anyone or where anyone is going in life. Something to think about.. |
