I'm married. It's true, a ring and a piece of paper does change things mentally somehow...It's strange. But I love being married, and love who I'm married too.

I believe in marriage. It means diffrent things to diffrent people. To me it means that I'm going to do everything possible to stay committed to the person i marrylove love love love
And I was for 29 years, and then he passed away.

I think a good long engament or living together first is the way to go...this gives you plenty of time to decide if you can spend the rest of your life with this person.
curious how long?

My wife and I got engaged after a year and a half, then we moved in together, and got married a year after that.

Marriage takes two committed to each other...both with baggage coming into it. Hopefully both have the same end result in mind. Its just that sometimes one party does not share in the same values and beliefs.

After 12 years of it before it ended...I hope I find what I thought I had. I'll never know if it is possible unless I am willing to try it again.

After what I've been through one would think I would be against it.

I agree totally

We even went so far as to take a break for a month just to make sure this is what we really wanted.

believe that marriage is the way to go?

Truthfully I did and have been married....it blows! Why does a piece of paper and a ring suddenly change things?

NEVER EVER NEVER BE MARRIED NEVER EVER

a piece of paper and ring dont change things........people change or dont show their real true selves in the dating process.......Really get to know the person you are going to marry!!!noway drinker

I think it is a paper thing. Kind of like gettting a dog.. that dog once papered is you... wonder if people feel that way... Me... the ring dont mean a thing if the paper is worthless because the heart is not in it.

call me old-fashioned and traditional, but i love the entire concept surrounding marriage, from a legal, religious, and family viewpoint

i would love being someone's wife and having a man to call husband. it just sounds more intimate, more like family, than boyfriend or partner.

i would be honoured and proud to take my guy's last name as my own and refer to myself as mrs. so-and-so. not so much losing my identity, but rather my identity being meshed with his.

is that same heart guaranteed to be in it, just because there is no paper? i don't think it's the paper (or lack of it) that causes a breakdown, but rather the two people involved.
