Topic: TAXES..McCain vs. OBAMA | |
---|---|
Here's something that might interest people...it's a comparison. Now watch the DEMS say...this isn't wasn't OBAMA is saying...Oh yes he is!!!!
Obama's proposal vs McCain's proposal on TAXES Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election: CAPITAL GAINS TAX MCCAIN proposes: 0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples) McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax. OBAMA proposes: 28% on profit from ALL home sales How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income. DIVIDEND TAX MCCAIN proposes: 15% (no change) OBAMA proposes: 39.6% How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama become president. The experts predict that 'higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit. INCOME TAX MCCAIN proposes: No changes, ie: Single making 30K - tax $4,500 Single making 50K - tax $12,500 Single making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 60K- tax $9,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250 OBAMA proposes" Reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts, ie: Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Under Obama your taxes will more than double! How does this affect you? No explanation needed. This is pretty straight forward. You can figure that out according to your situation. INHERITANCE TAX MCCAIN proposes: 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax) OBAMA proposes: Restore the inheritance tax How does this affect you? Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those bequeathing their assets to loved ones will most likely lose them to these taxes. The sad part about this tax is that it was supposedly aimed at the uber-rich but hit the middle-class person. NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA Someone has to fund the wars already in progress, plus the aftermath of those wars. Couple that with the proposed expansion of government targeted as stated goals by congress, and new taxes are going to be needed. Ponder these stated proposals: * New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet * New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already) to overhaul national transportation infrastructure. * New taxes on natural resource consumption (heating, gas, water, electricity) * New taxes on retirement accounts and last but not least.... * New taxes to pay for socialized medicine. Perhaps you object to that term. Should I have used "government assisted medical care?" Anyway, that's so we can receive the same level of medical care as any other third-world country!!! |

'Quikstepper', I am ever glad that I read this thread of yours, I usually skip them altogether. But this time, I am glad I did. I guess the voice of god was guiding me your way, to relieve you from the anxiety which the contents of this OP you posted must cause you. Well you'll be glad to hear 'quikstepper' that it is absolute unadulterated BS : 'baseless and substanceless'!!! None of it is true!!! I couldn't stand thinking of you loosing sleep over your hard earned money at the sale of your home. Lies quikstepper!!! All lies, spread by radical republicans, whom will stop at nothing to missinform people, a long as it forwards their fanatical agenda. It is so unfair, but you have been the unwilling, I am sure, VICTIM, that's right 'quikstepper', the poor and innocent VICTIM of a moral less, and vicious e-mail trying to baselessly portray Obama as the ennemy of the people!!! Imagine that 'quikstepper'. As I said earlier, I'm glad I could be of 'anxiety relief' support in your time of need 'quikstepper'. And since I figured you might not believe the 'TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE' good news I am bearing, I thought I would give you and everyone else here a link (that's a source, backing up what I say, so you can check it out for yourself, and confirm that the contents of the OP you posted is all BS: 'baseless and substance less'!!!) http://www.ctj.org/blog/2008/08/tax-foundation-debunks-anti-obama-tax.html Read that text first, and for more detailed information on the compared taxation platforms of both candidates, click on the highlighted 'helpfully points out' in the second paragraph of the linked text. I bet you'll sleep a lot better tonight! And who knows!!! That you know the truth, maybe it will set you free to vote for Obama!!! Glad I could be of help! |

Republicans and Democrats both LOVE to spend our money. I think a major difference with their phony "no new taxes" stance is that the Republicans don't collect money to pay their way. They are sticking our children and future generations with the bill and it is disgraceful.

Based on the numbers calculated from Nobama's admissions to bill O'Reilly, he will raise 80 billion from taxing the rich.
but the trillion needed for his shopping spree of give aways and thank you gifts to his faithful voters will have to come from somewhere. he is 920 billion short, based on his fuzzy math. I will bet he won't contribute any of his campaign warchest to that effort. 400 million, there and counting.... Perhaps he will steal it from foreign governments by printing money and rendering the dollar worthless. better yet, he can borrow it from Oil rich Arabs and the Chinese. yeah, that's it. call it an investment in social and community organizing efforts. yeah, that's the ticket. The Nobama ticket. My man!!!! Nobama 2008 |

Look at the interview he did this past weekend on CBS. his own words said he's not sure what he would do with taxes. Either have a plan or not what is it. Can he make any decisions? A little to indecisive for me

Senator John McCain was against the Bush tax cuts and now he is for them. Governor Palin was for the "bridge to nowhere" but now she is against it. I certainly know what we in NJ are going thru...that's WITH a DEM gov. & DEN majority... I'm surprized they haven't taxed us on the air we breath yet.
While you all like to blame REPS for everything that goes wrong, think again. Where are DEMS in protecting jobs in this country? Where are DEMS in getting us off foreign oil that they all went home instead of doing something for US???? Why are they coping out with national healthcare instead of protecting jobs & doing what they can to make it more industry friendly? Why are DEMS helping to CREATE & permanent underclass in America? Please... you can't point fingers. I know the deal...I live in the northeast. Maybe McCain/Palin appeal to everyday NORMAL people who live decent lives & aren't looking to stir the pot every 5 minutes, complaining about how aweful things are. Why is it that DEMS don't care about how their complaining during the election process & all their accusations affects our economy? If they want to ruin our nation they are doing a GREAT job of it. Maybe people want a strong national defense & a prez who actually knows what he's doing??? Yu think? Maybe people want prosperity & not to see our economy tank & maybe we want DEMS to stop licking their chops at our expense! Go figure... |

McCain was against offshore drilling but now he is for it. There are a lot of flip flops on both sides. if you are going to use a Sean Hannity phrase, then use it correctly and call osama nobama and bidet to the carpet. They are the true hypocrits. How? the bridge, of course. Obama and Biden Voted for Bridge to Nowhere By John Powers, Chicago Daily Observer August 31, 2008 Now that Alaska is front and center in the news again, it is a good time to catch up on a favorite story, The Bridge to Nowhere, using the Washington Post US Congress Votes Database. Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge ("to nowhere), she eventually killed the project, chosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs. However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief. Sen. McCain did not vote on the Coburn Amendment, though he is on record as opposing the Ketchikan bridge earmark. Source: cdobs.com |

Obama and Biden Voted for Bridge to Nowhere There were 780 provisions in the bill and it has support on both sides of the aisle. McCain didn't bother to show up. Would this be relevant if Gov. Palin wasn't lying about supporting the bridge? |

Cannot have effective lying spin with no wind. |

Just vote for who you want to. Palin will be president in the next four years. And if we were going to have a woman president I sure would not want it to be her. She does not have good qualities about her at all and she would send the work women have done for equality back a good 50 years or more. |
