To say there are NO mean people is just as wrong as to say all the people are mean... Yes, there are MEAN people here...real mean people... And there are alot of good people here.... and there are som highly opinionated people here... I can get along with all but the out and out MEAN ones. And when someone chooses to be out and out mean...they should be called on it. I don't disagree but why not call them on it rather than posting "general threads just saying mean people are bad" that doesn't point out what it is that makes people mean.. I've been accused of being mean and yes, I can be but no one has really seen me "mean" and I'm only mean when it's necessary and I'm pushed in a corner... That is a totally satirical thread...and made in a very humorous non threatening manner. All thorugh the thread it is obvious it was made for smiles only...and got a lot... Angel, I did not see smiles at all.. What I saw was a bunch of people complaining about mean people and then more threads like that pop up and the ironic thing is the 'other' poster has been cruelly mean to other members, so should be the last person posting a thread like that... I think anyone should post whatever they want "but" I think that if people make statements/accusations, they should not be general but clear on what it is they're talking about... Lately, all I hear is that people are mean to newbies or people are so mean in general and I've seen people called mean or uncompassionate b/c they tell it like it is... These same people I know as friends and they've been there for me when I needed a friend and I've seen them help others but they are called mean.. So my point is, let's clarify what is mean and what is not.. I know Peccy doesn't think I'm mean, and you and I don't know each other that well so you may not know whether I am or not.. BUT my honesty could make me fall into the catagory of "mean people"... You get where I'm coming from? |

My posts aren't about you either...just wanted to make clear what I meant by mean people....I love a good debate myself...never would want to stifel peoples opinions...just really does soemthing to me when someone deliberatly sets out to hurt someone. Like if someone is depressed and seriously hurting over a breakup or divorce or something and then someone comes in and makes a cheap shot...that is a mean spirit person...and I make no excuses for them. |
