Are there not more experienced female politicians?

I'm sure there are. But are they republicans?

can u please try to get past gender and party.
and give the lady a chance

if i was to judge a person by a box apperance...that would certainly get ME into all kinds of trouble!!

Oh Please. You think McCain didn't pick her because she is a woman? laugh

I think McCain picked her because she's more than just a pretty face. She's fiesty & a fighter for what she believes is right.

REFORM...a REAL REformer. Not like the empty suit OBAMA who was propped up by OPRAH & her media pals.

lol the only empty suit is you and your ant-obama argument.

Palin has a degree in journalisam
Obama has a degree in constitutional law from harvard

Palin was a sports reporter in Alaska
Obama was the first black man elected president of the harvard law review

Palin was a mayor of 8,000 people later governor
Obama's senate district had 800,000 (more than the entire state of Alaska)

Palin chosen because shes a woman/pro-life/get votes/hockey mom
Obama chosen because he got the most votes and has ran the gauntlet of the primaries versus the Clinton machine

Palin unknown, untested
Obama ready to lead on day one

You go Dredz! Very good points!

Did McCain hit a Grand Slam with her as his VP choice? I think so. Strong, Smart and Sexy as hell!! I'm an independent and I will now be voting for McCain.

Sarah is: A MOTHER OF 5, NRA MEMBER,PRO DRILLING AND ALTERNATIVE FUELS,HATES GOVERNMENT WASTE, AGAINST ABORTION,GAVE TAX MONEY BACK TO THE PEOPLE OF HER STATE OF ALASKA ETC..BYE BYE OBOMA.

Agreed......excellent choice.

I live in Alaska and I can tell you first hand of the good she has done here. She started making waves the minute she went into office and she hasn't stopped since.

The Permanent Fund Dividend did exist long before Sarah Palin did as a politician but energy relief is a separate issue altogether. It just so happens to be paid out at the same time as the dividends. Instead of a $2,000 dividend, this year we get an extra $1,200...similar to the economic stimulus payments received from the federal government earlier this year, only paid out at the same time. Sarah Palin is responsible for that movement and Alaskans are eternally grateful. She represents what it is to be an Alaskan. Small town girl with big ideas.

My brother went to high school with her son and my mom runs into her on a regular basis around town. She is a honest to God hard working wife and mother and exactly what this country needs, with or without McCain...and I'm relatively certain she was chosen more for her oil connections rather than her ovaries...think about it.

you may be right but really on her one accomplishment but you cant seriously suggest her ovaries had nothing to do with it?

in the same year that a woman almost clenches the democratic nomination, the same year the first black man ever nominated to be a major parties pick for president... you can sit there and suggest that if Sarah Palin, having the record she has, would be the VP pic if she had testicles?

if you believe that i got a bridge to no where id like to sell you

She has served in an executive position. She has more executive experience than Oboma.

He has worked in the legislative branch of the fed and has never sat in an executive roll. I’ve only seen him RUN his mouth but never a state or anything else for that matter. Sarah is better qualified to be President of the U.S.A. than Oboma.

As a U.S. senator Oboma has spent a majority of his time running for President. I herd he was only able to get one piece of legislation passed since he has been in office. How many pieces of legislation Has Sarah Palin signed off on. I’m guessing a lot. Good Luck Obomabots.

lets not forget that McCain has never served in an executive position either. so by your logic the Alaskan Gov should be the prez

Senator McCain has been a senator for 26 years...... how much more experience does one need?

obama was a TOTALLY UNKNOWN until he decided to make an attempt to run for president of the USA. Sworn into office January 4, 2005, thus only a US Senator for 3 years....

BUT hey, I thought this was about Palin v. Biden...

Why are people not discussing Biden?

I think Sarah Palin is a clever, but cynical pick by McCain. Clever in that any criticism of her PTA experience will draw legitimate comparisons to Obama's inexperience, and her positions mirror D!ck Cheney so the extreme right (like some here) will "love" her.

It's also a cynical, pandering pick to grab disillusioned female Hillary Clinton voters. It's pandering because from a practical (votes) perspective, it's the primary reason for selecting her, and it's cynical for McBush to assume these voters will switch simply because Sarah Palin lacks a Y chromosome.

Hopefully people will not vote for her just because she's a woman.

Yeah, we've already seen some people in these forums saying we should vote for her because she's a strong, hard working woman. Then when people state reasons they don't want to vote for her, they're accused of hating women.

Yes well I'm sure DEMS know about pandering since they do it so well. I think the cynicism is not coming from McCain but those who think this way...always figuring angles. That's really the way DEMS think. No wonder you are so cynical.

BIDEN? Biden who? What's there to discuss.

Other than OBAMA's 'talk" about "change" is really nothing more than talk?

We already knew that.

from a press release...

A statement released by the campaign said that Bristol Palin will keep her baby and marry the child's father. Bristol Palin is five months pregnant, and the baby is due in late December.

"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents," Sarah and Todd Palin said in the brief statement.

"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family," they added.

That poor child. Just imagine being 17 & pregnant, that's already hard enough & now she will be the biggest focus on attention since Brittney Spears! I feel so sorry for her.
