The problem with the whole thread is that Bush is a President, not a Dictator. He is not the reason we went to war. We have 3 branches of government. If Bush gets charged, so should the House and Senate. BTW I don't see a crime committed. QFT. Seriously, this hits the nail on the head. |

Robert H. Jackson
Chief of Counsel for the United States Nuremberg, Germany November 21, 1945 May it please Your Honors: The privilege of opening the first trial in history for crimes against the peace of the world imposes a grave responsibility. The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant, and so devastating, that civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored, because it cannot survive their being repeated. That four great nations, flushed with victory and stung with injury stay the hand of vengeance and voluntarily submit their captive enemies to the judgment of the law is one of the most significant tributes that Power has ever paid to Reason. This Tribunal, while it is novel and experimental, is not the product of abstract speculations nor is it created to vindicate legalistic theories. This inquest represents the practical effort of four of the most mighty of nations, with the support of 17 more, to utilize international law to meet the greatest menace of our times-aggressive war. The common sense of mankind demands that law shall not stop with the punishment of petty crimes by little people. It must also reach men who possess themselves of great power and make deliberate and concerted use of it to set in motion evils which. leave no home in the world untouched. It is a cause of that magnitude that the United Nations will lay before Your Honors. In the prisoners' dock sit twenty-odd broken men. Reproached by the humiliation of those they have led almost as bitterly as by the desolation of those they have attacked, their personal capacity for evil is forever past. It is hard now to perceive in these men as captives the power by which as Nazi leaders they once dominated much of the world and terrified most of it. Merely as individuals their fate is of little consequence to the world. http://www.roberthjackson.org/Man/theman2-7-8-1/ |

War crimes? Maybe...
Henry Kissinger was a good candidate for a trial. Speaking of crimes... Ever look into elections in the U.S.? By our own standards we should have election monitors here in the U.S. Elections with no national standard, voter intimidation, gerrymandering, no paper trail for verification, dead voters on the roles and no standard machines along with many being supplied by a company who's owner made public comments that indicated he was committed to electing his candidate. Yeah I know...off the issue just a tad but not so much really. |

intermission
time for refreshments & music i love this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVnYRJV_1RA&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_9O9_aR1Ms there are better versions of it too that he does, i think one of many songs i like by Mr. Neil Young the Loner Hes a perfect stranger, Like a cross of himself and a fox. Hes a feeling arranger And a changer of the ways he talks. Hes the unforeseen danger The keeper of the key to the locks. Know when you see him, Nothing can free him. Step aside, open wide, Its the loner. If you see him in the subway, Hell be down at the end of the car. Watching you move Until he knows he knows who you are. When you get off at your station alone, Hell know that you are. Know when you see him, Nothing can free him. Step aside, open wide, Its the loner. There was a woman he knew About a year or so ago. She had something that he needed And he pleaded with her not to go. On the day that she left, He died, but it did not show. Know when you see him, Nothing can free him. Step aside, open wide, Its the loner. |

this is sooo beautiful too
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxGcAm0EkTU There is a town in north Ontario, With dream comfort memory to spare, And in my mind I still need a place to go, All my changes were there. Blue, blue windows behind the stars, Yellow moon on the rise, Big birds flying across the sky, Throwing shadows on our eyes. Leave us Helpless, helpless, helpless Baby can you hear me now? The chains are locked and tied across the door, Baby, sing with me somehow. Blue, blue windows behind the stars, Yellow moon on the rise, Big birds flying across the sky, Throwing shadows on our eyes. Leave us Helpless, helpless, helpless. |

Spaceman...
since you like my kind of music i found this one.... this is my favorite < bob seger> tune http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c86lU5KObGg&feature=related <<< till it shines >>> Take away my inhibitions Take away my solitude Fire me up with your resistance Put me in the mood Storm the walls around this prison Leave the inmates Free the guards Deal me up another future From some brand new deck of cards Take the chip off of my shoulder Smooth out all the lines Take me out among the rustling pines Till it shines Like an echo down a canyon Never coming back as clear Lately I just judge the distance Not the words I hear Ive been too long on these islands Ive been far too long alone Ive been too long without summer In this winter home Still if we can make the effort If we take the time Maybe we can leave this much behind Till it shines See the rich man lost and lonely Watch him as he dines Sitting there just testing all the wines Till it shines |
