My agenda is to defend peoples beliefs. Too many times do I come on the religion forums and see someone tell someone else that their beliefs are wrong. There is no right or wrong when it comes to beliefs, thats why they are beliefs. Religion can not be proven or disproved so all we have is our beliefs.
Sorry but I have to ask. Defend their beliefs or defend their right to them? As for the person who started this thread, you say you came to tell people what their beliefs really are. How dare you assume that you know someones beliefs better than them. You may know what their religion teaches, but that doesn't mean you know their personal beliefs. I have disagreements with somethings my church teaches and don't believe everything they do, but I still call it my church.
I started this thread, and I don't think you read it all. But that's ok, they do get long. I never try to tell people what their beleifs are or what they should be. I try to make people THINK, to open their eyes and their ears and their minds. To research, to discuss and NOT TO BE LED. I do defend a persons right to their beliefs, but I also defend the person who is lost and confused and easily led. The reason I do this, is because religion can be a dangerous set of matches to be played with. Religion should be a 'self-seeking' venture and people should be honest and anwer questions without any intention to lead but only to inform. What's more religion can make harsh judges of people, deny childen education, and spit in the face of other peoples rights, all because someone interpreted a book inadequately. Maybe Chazster, we are not so far from the same agenda after all. Ok, my bad. I skipped over a word that was very important in a particular sentence. Of course if you have read these forums before you know that certain people do exactly what I was saying. Yes I meant the right to have them. There are those that go around telling people that their belief is wrong when there is no real evidence that it is the case. It just upsets me when people have a lack of respect for other peoples opinions. |

WHAT'S YOUR AGENDA when writiging in the religious forum? To share a lightness of spirit...labelless and as constant as the tides... that's my agenda... to share what meagre insights I have on some of the topics here, without having to be labelled anything. |

Jessie Lee has a labeless agenda
to share with generic glee She offers her topics on underworld tropics with dust bunnies on her marquee She shares with a smile that is always worthwhile and posts like a ghost from a Salem Witch Trial She offers the most as a cyberspace host in her rare and atypical style |

I think her (Jess642) agenda is to abolish all labeling in order to put a stop to pre-conceived notions and bigotry.
Her method of operation is not to preach or teach but to be an example of a person who insists on not being labeled. JB |

What's wrong with you anyway? Get back to you painting! We all know that you're an Oilist. There's probably something grossly non-environmentalist about that. You're painting with the oilized blood of dinosaurs do you know that? You probably have Draconicon blood on your brushes! |

I'm the kind of person that has to label everything. I run around with a magic marker and stick on labels labeling everything that needs labeling. I can't help myself. I'm a labeler. Get back to you painting!
Okay thanks for reminding me. But I was getting involved with my ant slaughter experiment. We all know that you're an Oilist.
There's probably something grossly non-environmentalist about that. Yes. Ivory black oil paint is made from charred animal bones. You're painting with the oilized blood of dinosaurs do you know that? You probably have Draconicon blood on your brushes! Something like that. JB |

alexia 1St: I just love to learn about people. Since religion/spirituality is such a deep and personal decision, I am naturally curious about it & why they choose to believe or not to believe something.
2nd: To defend the right for each of us to make this decision for ourselves. There are no definitive answers about the possible existence of a God/Gods. Yes indeed, very nice. But we just don't see you near enough in these threads. You are a quality writer, I like reading you, so post some more - ok? Thank you. Considering that it came from you, it means a lot to me. |

(to quantify)...is to attach MY perspective to someone, something, to an action or a belief, and in my doing that, I would be creating, generating an untruth... as it would only have one dimension to it, (whatever it was)...MY dimension, as seen through my perspective, my filters.... and I don't want that kind of arrogance. I am far from perfect though, I am still only a frail human..(blech!)... and at times make decisions as to who and what things are... >...however I is workin' on it.. |

LOL Your agenda is to abolish labeling. BUT you don't preach it to others, you only practice it yourself to serve as an example to others. And everyone knows that the best way to teach others is to be a shining example. Hence, that is your method of operation. Very clever my dear. (insert evil laugh here ) On the other hand we disparately need labeling. What if I needed a doctor. Do I ask for a dentist? No, I ask for a doctor. That is a label. I may need a lawyer or a plumber or a priest. These are all labels. If I wanted to learn about God, who do I ask for? A nurse? A politician? Or should I ask for a priest or a preacher? If so, what kind? Would anyone do? Yes I think I would be lost in a world with no labels. But now that I know your agenda, I will call you the "non-labeler." Sorry for the label. JB |

I looked again for an agenda... but I couldn't find one. Of course it's so messy inside my head with all that useless STUFF in there it's a wonder I can find anything at all...
But sometime *maybe* my agenda is to defend the underdog. I never like it when it seems like a bunch of people are picking on another person- especially if they are picking on that person's sincere beliefs.... most everyones beliefs sound silly to *someone*. That's cause they're beliefs and not provable facts. Hello everyone. I've missed you all! (((((RED)))))))))- thanks for the thread- somewhat provocative but not leading (yet) to actual bloodshed- yeah for you. (((((Abra))))))) (((((Voil)))))))) (((((Kat))))))))) (((((Jess)))))))) (((((TLW))))))) (((((JBean))))) and (((((everyone else)))) I missed or forgot.... i'm sorry if I left you out.... Peace and joy to all. |
