Topic: WHY, Why, why, WHYYY?? | |
---|---|
In the spirit of people *****ing and moaning, I thought I would post a topic. Here goes: Why must society set it's limits to a 'BBW' and a 'SKINNY MINNIE'? I'm 5'5 and 145, I am CLEARLY nowhere NEAR a bbw, but I am not skinny minnie either! Granted I am going through a divorce and will soon be thin again, but what's wrong with the nicely proportionate women eh? ANSWER THAT.
[FYI: I could really give two craps what the answers will be, just wanted to post a topic. Randamity if you will. I do not get offended either, so don't bother, all comments are welcome, thanks] |

I really don't know. There are guys that only want a skin and bones gal, and other that are very happy with some softness. I think it's all the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" thing. But I'm not a dude.

Well, I am directing this toward society in general, so your comment is just as valid as some guy.

Well if we are speaking about society in general. Then it is simple the media projects a image in to the brains of men and women, of hot people, or what they think hot should be. So men and women start to except that when they are looking for someone even if they are not the perfect image them self's.
So in the end the media plagues are minds with images of hotter and hotter people and we want to see more and more. But the sad thing is there is nothing wrong with the so called average people all around us. Now My personal view on the matter. I look for personally first and for most in a mate. Looks are also important but I do not care that much about weight in the end. Now how there face looks on the other end is very important to me. But that is just how I am! |

I agree with this, but also what about the big girls who dont realize that they are big and have to act like they are better than everyone else? Im not sitt here ranting about big girls being ugly or whatever. I would simply like to know why there are those girl out there that weigh three to four hundred pounds and choose to pick on everyone else or think that their stuff dont stink, ( as do most "hot" or "knockout" women. These both heavy set and skinny, hot whatever are the ones that get under my skin. I myself have been with and dated what some would call ugly girls, fat girls hot girls, average pretty much all of the above, but they all had one thing in common. They had good personalities, they were intelligent, had great senses of humor, and they liked me for me. Id take that over any "dream woman" anyday. |

I must say it confuses me just as much cindacollins, according to society stick thin is perfect and fat is horrible, but they always ignore the average which IS the perfect, both of the two looked at by society are stretched to far, personally that point between very thin and very heavy is best, gives the body proper curves, the right balance in features, etc (woo for my horrible describing skills, *bows*) though I'm sure I make at least some since here. Most of society is shallow and warped by the media blinded to true perfection that can only be seen by your own views and not a magazine, it is not the body type but the individual, even on a raw appearance level each person can look better at a different stage, I've known some average girls (like 120-140ish)who decided to drop the weight down as much as possible, and when they looked great at how they were, the build of their body just didn't look right with that weight.
Then again that's just my mind's very neutral and "female is perfection no matter what" view. Another opinion :) |

society is such a coat of many colors, if it wernt for hollywood and the mags, i think america would have a better idea of what a Beautifull woman looks like

In biblical times, full figured women were the prize. I think it is the clothing industry just trying to be greedy by cutting material costs,,,lol...Really it is hollywood and there use of sex to sell advertising. It is just a matter of mechanics in the ease of photography that has driven it into this delusion that most men fall into! Don't worry about a few extra pounds, unless there is a health issue. Any man worth having won't care. Same as any woman worth having won't care about the money!

I've had this issue most of my life and really I am not that big, but people, I believe what is more important than that is what shows from within. Give someone a chance to show you what they have to offer from within them. They could have the kindest heart and a real nice personality but may be too shy to show you at first. Sometimes it takes a while to get to know somebody, and you shouldn't judge just from seeing them one time. There may be something there that doesn't come out right away and you will wish you had been more patient and let it come out of them. The smile, the personality and the heart are far more important to me than a few extra pounds. Also, you may be the key to them finding their inner self if they aren't happy with themselves because of their weight. If you can be there for moral support and encourage them by making them feel important and joining them in activities to help them out, they will feel proud to do it for themselves. I would love to look like a 10, and if he wants to help me do it and give me encouragement to do so, that would be great. Except them for who they are and be happy sharing together and you will find it much rewarding, I'm sure. A chance of a lifetime could slip right by if you don't stop and smell the roses. (well, you know what I mean).

Girls who are too thin don't do anything for me. I like a girl who is comfortable with herself no matter what her height or weight is.

Me personally, I dont find bigger women attractive. Dont hink they are ugly/gross just not my thing. But a girl that looks like she hasnt eaten in a week is just as unappealing.
I want a girl that looks healthy, but not extreme in the other two areas either way. |

Hi ,, girls seem to look at it in the same way , you read there post and they to want skinny minnie .. I guess its all in the eye of the beholder.
But there are some of us that is just looking for that one to love . but again it still means were looking for a match to. it has to have things in common and likes and dislikes in common to. so to say its just men is incorrect. you ladys do look at a man as w/ a 6 pack and 6 ft .. but that to could mean why there are so many single men and woman now days were to pickey and not willing to face the facts of life were not all so young any more .. |

Well, I am what you consider a BBW and hey thats what it is. I think like with anything it is up to an individuals taste and likeness...some like em lil and some like em big...I prefer someone who is cool, cute and has a great personality.

I think that if you are comfortable with yourself, that is all that really matters. If someone starts out as not liking your body... then you sure as hell don't need to give them time to know your mind.
When I was 20 it was all about the bod, the mind was secondary. As I've gotten older, I know what is important to me. My tastes have changed and I've realized that I have grown for the better (my mind and my butt LOL) Just be true to yourself and don't settle for someone that wants to change who you are physically or mentally. It's just not worth the effort because it will end in disaster eventually. That is why I make sure to put in my profile current pictures. And at least a partial body shot. And I'm not a size 2, but I know that I am sexy, attractive and comfortable in my own skin. Take it or leave it, I like me. |
