1)Ok here is something interesting . . . don't you think if God wanted to write a book it would be so amazingly written as to not have anything of which to argue over? (just thought all the strife in the forum is the last thing god would want his flock to pursue . . regardless of interpretation)

Or is its obscurity another test? Maybe you are not passing . . . . laugh

2) Oh spider Id love to see your evidence that creation took 7 days . . . that would really make my day. In fact id love to have any evidence of any miracle EVER.

Define "miracle".

Im not in the business of defining words, I leave that up to dictionaries, the most relevant definition I found that applies to the topic at hand would be . . .

Miracle:
"a marvelous event manifesting a supernatural act of a divine agent"

Where the word Supernatural would be to my thought process the kicker . . . . .

A few thoughts on God's creation & the confusion about was it good or not...

God said it WAS good.

God loved humanity most of all because we are made in His image. The fall of man was not about us as much as it was about satan's fall from grace with God.

It's also about God wanting us to love Him FREELY. For as many as would believe in Him would become the children of God. Choice...it's all about choice.

I would hope that many here would start to agree with God as easily as they are swayed by the things of this world.

See? It's not so black & white as to say...was it good or not?

""was"" just leads us back to why god did not make it so it would "always be good"

You know, I used to make sarcastic remarks also. You were first in line to read my the riot act when I did.

The difference spider is you insult and clearly have an agenda with your hurtful comments. You are attempting to divert the debate away from your inability to successfully rebut. That is clearly not the same as Tribo making a little joke (often at are own expense we do this) We do not have a responsibility to explain each and every time we throw in a sarcastic remark. Jesus...

I haven't made any insulting remarks, used sarcasm or lost my temper in this thread. I feel that it would be appropriate for you to judge my arguments in this thread by what is actually posted in this thread instead of coming up with excuses to ignore my arguments.

It is you that have continually ignored my arguments spider. I can not tell if you are giving up or what you want me to do about that exactly. You tell me. I have been waiting here. Whenever you feel square, jump.

Her comments are what they are Spider. I have chosen to ignore it. I see it as a diversionary tactic used when you can’t actually debate a topic.

Oftentimes, it can be the result of frustration, when the person you are debating with refuses to see reason and the "judges" make unfair rulings.

No unfair rulings have been made. You lost to Abra fair and square. If you never lost your temper during the course of that debate, as you claim, then you only lost due to your own argument not being as persuasive or as swift moving as his. Abra has a very interesting flow to his comments, you not so much.

My argument was stronger than more supported by evidence than Abras. Period. Abra's argument depended on the assumption that humanity acted the same way before the flood as before the coming of Jesus. That is a fallacy, because the only evidence we have of those times presents them as completely different. Abras argument is that "They were the same and it's just not in the Bible". Any fair and reasonable person would see the problem with that argument.

If you find yourself becoming frustrated because you can't convince other people that your picture of God is the right picture then perhaps it's time to ask yourself if you're really barking up the right tree in the first place.

No one should ever become frustrated if they are truly preaching the word of the creator of this universe. That very idea is an oxymoronic idea.

so are you saying then that god is not - "omniexpieriencial in nature"? are you not then limiting once again god's omni nature?

I laughed when I read this. But in case this wasn't intended as a joke...

There is nothing in the Bible that claims God is "omniexpieriencial in nature". I have never even heard the term used. It's disturbing to me to imagine that God experiences everything that humans experience. That would mean God could experience lust and hate and pain and fear...

No, the Bible teaches that God knows all things, not experiences all things.

does god not state that he "hates'? you think he did not feel pain or suffering in his death on the cross? did he not sweat tears of blood asking himself to take this cup away from himself?? flowerforyou

Also Feralcatlady . . pointing to a book and saying this is my evidence does not hold up in court for a good reason, it also in even the loosest terms . . . is NOT evidence.

how old do you think the earth is? How long do you think it took to form? (Im assuming from your post you take a very literal view of the bible)

Jesus was a man. How could he not feel pain during crucifixion? That’s illogical. He had nails through his hands. I think his feet also. Do you realize that over the course of hours you suffocate with your arms tied like that to your side because it forces you to lift your own body weight in order to take a breath. How could the man not feel pain! It’s a terrible way to go.

You brought that up with your ridiculous comment that the Christians were being so well mannered and I pointed out your own loss of temper and that of your friends. I am not in the slightest bit angry. Nor have I ever been.

Tribo,

You are twisting the meanings of my words. Did Jesus experience pain? Yes. Does Jesus experience your pain when you skin your knee? No. Your and Abra's claim is that God must experience everything in order to be God. What verse supports that statement? What definition of Omnipotence or Omniscience supports that position? You had to create a new word to even describe the phenomena. I'm sure your intentions are pure (although you did assure me you are only a troll), but your arguments have left the realm of rationality.

If your mind wasn't clouded with feelings of outrage, you wouldn't still be claiming that I "yelled" at you. And I never once said that Christians are "well mannered" (although anyone would have to admit that Eljay is a truly stand-up guy with a very even temper), my point was that Christians get called on their bad behavior while non-Christians usually get away with it.

I think I know now. You remind me of my ex. When I would get mad at her, she would fall back to some perceived insult, so that she could switch the argument around. You are doing the same thing. I commented that you shouldn't insult Christians, so you are trying to find something I have done wrong so that you can hang that on me.
