Look my friend if you happen to believe that the universe was created in 6 days literally, it would be a lost of time debating with you.
I already lost a whole afternoon with you the other day, and I ended up insulting you, and I didn't even realize, so for the sake of my sanity and well-being I will let you believe whatever Jimmy Swaggart says on TV.

noway

TLW,

Where is all this hate coming from? What does what I believe about the creation have to do with this? I don't listen to Jimmy Swaggart, what gave you that impression? I'm just completely lost. If you want to go back a couple days and read, you will find that I complemented you as a good Christian and encouraged you to stop attacking other Christians. When you speak of me, you put Christian in quotes. Why? Why are you so desperate to be loved by non-Christians that you would throw a fellow Christian under the bus? It makes no sense to me. I'm going to have to ignore your posts for awhile, because I'm very close to saying something I will regret.

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed." Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.

Well, what does Jesus say? "your faith has healed you" It wasn't the cloak, it was her faith that God would heal her. And notice that she wasn't healed when she touched the cloak, she was healed after Jesus said "Take heart, daughter, your faith has healed you". She was healed after her hand moved away from the cloak.

This is an excellent example of how people are healed by their own faith. Not by God, not by Jesus, not by a healer. BY THEIR OWN FAITH.

faith in whom my dear?
faith in themselves?
faith in the air?

the word faith implies that there must be something or somebody to whom these people have faith in.

I would guess he puts Christian in quotes when referring to you because you don't really act like what he thinks a Christian should act, you simply claim to be a Christian.

Are you really? You think a person is going to get all fluttery because you pay them a compliment and call them a "good Christian" and then turn around and "encourage" them to "stop attacking other Christians" which assumes that he was.

Just because his beliefs differ from yours, you consider that he is "attacking" other Christians?

And why do you think he is "disparate to be loved by non-Christians and accuse him of throwing another Christian under a bus? What kind of remark is that?

Is this a war to you? Are you fighting a war with non-Christians over your faith? If so why? Do you have doubts about your own beliefs?

Don't bother to answer any of my questions Spider, except maybe to yourself. You called me unreasonable, after all and told me not to ask you any more questions.

How many other people think I am unreasonable? Anyone? If so, how am I unreasonable. I am asking anyone to answer this question because I want to know.

It actually does not matter who they have their faith in. I could be a magic pill. (A placebo works wonders) If a person has faith that they will be healed then it is their belief that alters their perception of reality and the power of their own mind does it.

The mind and the power of belief are powerful instruments in this holographic matrix, for this reality is like a lucid dream that we can control with thought and belief and perception.

remember I'm out of that holographic matrix where you live. I understand the concept, but I don't comprehend it.
I don't share your conception in reality, maybe if I had lived back in the 60's, it would be easier for me to understand it.

laugh laugh

I don't know what the holographic matrix and the 60's have to do with each other.

I believe it will not be long when it is discovered that we are living in a hologram made up of light and reflections.

It could be soon as they discover that they cannot find the "God Particle" they so disparately are trying to find in their giant multi-billion dollar particle accelerators.laugh

What will happen to our current scientific picture of reality when they discover that everything is just a projection of light and nothing actually has any mass at all?

Thanks.happy I think it would be boring too without you and Spider and other people who are bold enough to speak their minds.

Indeed, what a boring world it would be if everyone agreed.

Quote:CATHOLIC: It is not as confused as you imagine. Let’s make some important distinctions: The Church is necessary, as I have said, because no one will be saved apart from Christ. If the Church were suddenly taken out of the world, the knowledge of Christ would be lost. So I agree with our Fundamentalist friend here on the necessity of Christ and the Church for salvation, but he insists also that faith in Christ must be conscious and explicit for a person to be saved. Am I accurate in stating your position?

I would guess he puts Christian in quotes when referring to you because you don't really act like what he thinks a Christian should act, you simply claim to be a Christian.

I'm not surprised, TLW doesn't think Jesus was a good Christian either.

TLW,

I quoted you scripture from the Catholic bible, which shows Jesus saying that ONLY PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW JESUS ARE GOD'S CHILDREN and you denied it. You pretended it isn't in the Bible, but then you judge me for repeating what Jesus said. It does not make sense. Can you explain it to me? Why are you a Christian if you so hate what Jesus said on this subject?

TLW,

You can ignore me, but ignoring the Bible won't make it go away. I think it's time you actually read the Bible for yourself. I suggest Jonah and 1 Corinthians 5, you might be surprised.

You are going off the hook with your snide comments Miguel. I didn't read anywhere that spider jabbed your faith by mentioning that most priests are closet gays, or child molesters, or any stabs at the pope being no holier than you or I or even poking fun at the pope mobile or anything...... If you can't show respect for someone else's beliefs then kindly avoid the slams. Jimmy Swaggert? Geez! noway
