Even as a metaphor it's still a proclamation of division. Pitting man against man. Converting could-be friends into foes.

Why use religion to proclaim that anyone is your enemy?

Look at how a self-proclaimed Paper Pope can go around trying to create division and hostility between men by proclaiming that non-Christins are not children of God.

The Catholic bishop was right. Paper Popes speaking for Jesus is a shallow empty idea that can only lead mankind down a path of self-degradation.

The sad part is that far too many blind sheep will follow the Paper Popes simply because they claim to be speaking for Jesus. But in reality all they are really doing is using the scripture to twist the lips of Jesus into shapes that appear to be preaching the bigoted hatred that they are so anxious to instantiate into the minds of lost sheep.

So sad indeed.

You all can try to shoot me down, but the bottom line is you speak from a place of not knowing, some from deliberate rebellion, & that will not change until you seek God first & test His word with a sincere heart.

Don't shoot me..I'm just the messenger. You can make up any gods you want...I'm sticking with what is tried & true.

BTW...you all only hear condemnation but to the rest of us we hear life & liberty. Chew on that for a while.

You say "YOU ALL...." and that just seems crude. You clump everyone together in your mind and draw a line of separation between two groups. One group you perceive to be behind you supporting you all the way and you pretend to speak for them.

Look again QS. I don't think you will find as many as you think

They can speak for themselves, you do not speak for them. I will not judge any other Christians by what you say, nor will I judge you by what they say.

I see them and you each as individuals and each non-Christian is an individual. Speak for yourself Quickstepper, and speak to the individual. We are not a mob set out to destroy you or your beliefs. We are individuals.
