5 drinks in an hour...then you drove home......noway noway

and you are complaining about her...??????

Just to show you ladies that women can be just as messed up on first dates, I offer this story.

My friend Alex had talked me into asking out Michelle. She worked in one of the stores we frequented, and he had said "Dude, she flirts with you all the time." So after much pushing, I asked her out. Much to my suprise, she said "yes."

So, I go to pick her up, still going good, and we head out to dinner. I take her to one of the local resturants, where we have salads, talk about our families, then main course is served (she had the chicken, I had the chops). Now I will admit, other than a few things like "how's your meal," and "this is good," I probably didn't talk much while eating. But this next part was not deserved.

After finishing her plate, she looks at me and says "will you excuse me?" Thinking nothing of it, I rise from my chair as she stands, and I watch her head towards the "ladies room." Well, I sit there, like all guys do I'm sure, thinking about how well it's going. She's been interested in the things we were discussing, and I believed we were having a good evening.

Now while I'm sitting there revelling ing the evenings events, the waiter comes up and asks "are you ready for the check?" Well, I look up and naturally say "I think I'll see if my date wants any dessert." He looks back and says "your date?" To which I reply "Yeah, the lady that was sitting with me." Now he kind of looks away, then down, then back at me and says "sir, she left a few minutes ago." I immediately fired back "no, she's just in the ladies room." He of course responded, "no, I saw her walk out the front door, that's why I got your check."

My mind raced for a second, did she see someone outside she knew? Did she go up to the convience store to buy some cigarettes or something? I ended up asking the waiter for a seven and seven, and waited. After an hour and about five drinks, I decided she wasn't coming back, paid the check and went home. I started shopping at another store the next day.

Apparently you missed the timeline in the story. If you read it again, you'll see I didn't have any drinks WHILE she was there. AFTER I realized I had someone walk out on a date, yeah, I had some drinks and drove home drunk!!

I'm sure you've never violated a law in your life(no speeding, parked more than 12" from a curb, never jaywalked, never sped up to go throu a yellow, all of which are just as deadly), so I can see why you'd want to talk down on me. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the world that can't take everything "in stride," and I doubt I'm the only one that ever "had a few" after a bad night. I had them and made a bad decision, it happens, and it happened when I was what 23? Didn't anyone else do something stupid when they were young?

Next time we go for self rightous indegnation, let's check our facts.

Thank you, Justme.

We saw each other again last night. I'm so tired, but exhilarated..... don't care at the moment about how tired I am. I know my synapses are not firing right.... Going to sleep right after work, no doubt.
