IronMan was better!!! LOL

Not better. Your comparing apples to oranges.

There was definetely a darker side to Batman. Batman did not so much change or grow but, his circumstances became darker. The audience can appreciate where the character's hardships in the future knowing the sacrifices that he made in this movie.

In Iron man we saw the main character go from being shallow & pamper socialite to someone that was admirable.

Both movies are great in their own right. The acting in both (with one exception) was also great but, Heath Ledger's Joker was a step above the mark.

I watched the movie this evening online and it was really good even though the picture quality was really crappy on my screen . I'm sure it will be much better when I see it in theatres hopefully this weekend .

Okay, I liked the movie a lot....BUT, I don't think either were actually better than Transformers!

Oh, and X-Men is right up there with all of them.......

I just hope Marvel steps in and saves the Silver Surfer from how Hollywood bastardized his character.....

I'll disagree with you on the Transformers and I'm not partial to either. The Special effects, HD sound, the writing (it was hilarious in parts) and the sound track easily made up for Heath Ledgers perfomance....

Final Numbers on the 1st weekend:

Within days, The Dark Knight will have made as much money, and maybe more, than Batman Begins made during its entire four-month theatrical run.

A record-shattering debut will help you perform a superhuman feat like that.

Final numbers released today show The Dark Knight amassed $158.4 million in its opening weekend, up $3.1 million from Sunday's estimates.

The movie's first three days broke down like this, per Exhibitor Relations Co.:

$67.1 million on Friday, the biggest ever opening day, single day and Friday on record
$47.7 million on Saturday
$43.6 million on Sunday, now the biggest ever Sunday on record
Despite grousing from Warner Bros.' rival studios about supposedly optimistic estimates, as related in blogger Nikke Finke's Deadline Hollywood Daily, The Dark Knight beat projections every day, save for Saturday, when it just fell shy of the initial $48 million estimate.

Transformers better??????? I think that I just went into shock. The special effects were okay in transformers but.............
1). The villians in transformers just wasn't theatening.
2). They could not decide on whether to be campy or darker so it lack consistency. Granted, I do not care for any of the other bat movies besides batman begins & the dark knight because they were campy but, at least they were consistently campy & kid friendly.

Overall, the dark knight was a far better story.

Personally I don't think the "campyness" was a mix up, I think they intentionally did it to make the movie funny during the slow parts but when the fighting was on it got serious.

How can't an enemy that blows apart building at will be threatening?

oh boy....sigh.....sub-plots after sub-plots. which was okay, once everything came into one it became more comfortable. the build up to harvey dent's demise and two-face's beginning was a great transformation...but was it really necessary to make it two hours just for this introduction? He was pretty much the main character. The Joker was a great character in this film, Heath's portrayal of this chaotic lunatic was quite superb, but i sometimes got the feeling he was improvising. As for christian bale's batman, I could careless! He had a small role, which didn't seem to fit well with the movie...strange that this is a batman movie. Sadly to say, i was not impress and did not awe as i wanted to. Also, why did batman sometimes have a lisp, and how come he couldn't talk without ever closing his mouth entirely? And last but not least, we can never, never, never, expect to see nolan's batgirl. why? because barbara gordon is Lt. gordon's wife...not his neice nor daughter.

p.s. remember lucius fox's comment, "no, but it can protect you from cats." well, it seems that may be an introduction for the Cat Women!!!

the movie is not the best, but nonetheless, a good movie.

out of 10 stars, i give it a 5 stars!

I thought there were some much deeper moral questions being asked in the film? Dent stating near the beginning that you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain was perfect foreshadowing. Joker forced Batman to make some decisions and Gotham's citizens had to do the same. They had to ask themselves to what extent they wanted vigilante justice.

I think Nolan wanted the message to hit and the questions to be asked.

But whatever--I really liked it.
