Ok I'll share something with you all............Last year I was diagnosed as having a brain cancer it was in an inoperable section of my brain my only recourse was sterotactic radiosurgery (using a radiation via laser). In the course of all this lovely discovery we found out i was pregnant. I had a choice........I could wait and pretty much guarantee I wouldn't have enough time for treatment to save me therefor leaving 3 children motherless..providing the child survived to full term and survived birth as they planned to to take it at approx 7 months to hopefully give me treatment time. You see i have other complications associated with my health which make it difficult for me to carry to term. Or I have an abortion as treatment pretty much guaranteed my childs in utero death or sever birth defects. Again I have 2 children Living breathing children who are here..........Do i guarantee my survival and my existing children keep mom? or do I gamble and hope i have time? or do i do nothing get treatment and hope good really does take pitty on fools and children? I chose to go wiht my dr's decision and abort. Do i regret it? Yes but not for the reasons you think....I wonder will i go to hell I believe it's murder tehn i look at my children and think it's wortth it. I have it's ultrasound pictures,............i sometimes wake up hearing a child that's not here crying.........and my arms ache as it would have been born by now...........I made my choice.
Judge me if you will but i always said Never. Till I was faced wiht the decision and God made me swallow those words. Till it's you.....you'll never know

as for those that say if you know it may endanger your life take precaoutions,,,,,,,,,my tubes have been tied for three years........

id never judge you, im so sorry im speechless.

I don't think you would...............so many people on here look at only two sides the rape/incest side and the stupid lets take no precaustions and get out easy side.......there are many other scenarious and No-One on here can honestly say what they would do under any given circumstances till your faced with them. When you are you may surprise even yourself.

I know it's real, but this is a dating site. Not the correct forum by any means.

yer a man its not your choice

I've been waiting on someone to say that..Thank you Tina!

murder should be no ones choice!

Like I said , why not kill the rapist???
He is the criminal...Oooooh i forgot...that would not be politically correct! Babies are easy targets...especially all snuggled up inside a womb where you really can't even see them suck their thumbs...

You said you were pro life. Do you believe in the death penalty?

Are you advocating killing the rapist here?

Abortion is not murder. A fetus is not a person, nor is it considered alive until it takes its first breath.

I believe in reincarnation and that the soul does not even enter the body until just before or shortly after the birth. That is my belief.

Women are more than just incubators for the propagation of the species. They are people. Pregnancy can take your life. My niece nearly died in child birth, and if she ever got pregnant again, it would be fatal for her to have another child. Her husband had a vasectomy to prevent her from getting pregnant again, but if she were ever raped and got pregnant, she would have to have an abortion if she wanted to live. I for one am glad this option is available and that medical treatment will not be refused for people in these kinds of situations.

Still, I am and always will be pro choice. I am also pro life, I don't believe in killing rapists or the death penalty.

Men are more than simply sperm donors, they are people, they are fathers. If you cut them, will they, like women not also bleed? If you take their child will their hearts also not break?

No, I am very much against the death penalty too! Murder is murder! You cannot be 100% sure of anyones guilt...people have been turned off death row after DNA proved their innocence...MY GOD what did we almost do to them???? How would you like to be THAT person???

I merely suggested that IF MURDER is OK for an innocent baby...then why NOT
kill the Rapist??? I was making a point only! Showing that it is all about political correctness...no common sense to the thinking at all.

As far as the very RARE minority of abortions that are NOT murder, but SELF DEFENSE medical procedures...you just cannot compare the two...But pro-choicers, like yourself, love to take the most extreme cases to fight for their real objective which is to allow
women/themselves to just MURDER babies at whim! Most avortions are due to sorry azz women that just want to clean up their mistake! And they do it with the blood of their unborn baby!

And callous to the right to parenthood and choice of the father, the same right right to choose that they so vehemently fight for!

Freedom is paramount. Women should never be required to have a baby if they choose not to.

The availability of medical solutions to women for any reason should not be a matter decided by society, the law, the moral majority or the Church.

The Catholic church would even prevent a woman from taking a birth control pill. For years, to refuse to have sex with your husband was frowned upon and a man could legally rape his own wife without fear of prosecution.

However I do not believe in abortion as a form of "birth control" but I also do not believe anyone has the right to tell a woman she must give birth if she does not want to.

People should take steps to prevent pregnancy but these steps were not offered to women very often in our recent past. Planned parenthood clinics tried to educate women in birth control and offer medical care, yet were always under attack from people who seemed to think they can tell other people what they should do with their lives or their bodies.

Women will have abortions whether they are legal or not. I lived in a time where illegal back street abortions put women's lives in danger. I would hate to ever see this country back slide into that state of affairs again.

Still, the debate rages on uselessly. I have confidence that medical care for women will always include her right to choose in the event she ends up with an unwanted pregnancy.

Everyone has a right to their opinion and where abortion is concerned the moral choice to have one or not should be one that you will only be able to make for yourself, not for other people. You do not have the right to make that choice for others.

And any argument with the question "what about the choice of the baby?" is a lame attempt to try to convince people that an embryo has a choice. It doesn't. That is the law.

JB

P.S. as for taking the most extreme cases, you might be surprised how many of those cases there are. To deny the option to even one of them is wrong. Even a normal healthy pregnancy is dangerous for a woman.

Just because a man gets a woman pregnant that does make him a "father." Planned parenthood is just that. Planned. If you want to be a father, you and your significant other should sit down and discuss your plans and desires to have and raise a family.

But instead, what often happens is two people start doing what comes naturally, never once thinking about the consequences of a child resulting from their moment of passion.

Yeah see this is the thing, people don't take the time to think before they act sometimes. If they would, would save them much heartache.

Amazing. I stepped back twice since first responding to this topic. Once to gather myself and recently to attempt to gather my final response, trying to key in a mild, inoffensive reply.

I actually had no business here for two reasons. 1-My self-imposed rule to stay clear of religion, politics, inflamatory people, and negativity. 2-As a lover of family (I have my reasons) this issue is a particular sore spot for me (again, I have my reasons).

But enter I did, post I did. Mildly, respectful of differences of opinion. Lulled by the general lighthearted atmosphere of JSH, I was awakened here by closed mindedness and entrenched politcal agendas.

I am the last person to say keep your opinion to yourself. I like many before and after me have placed years and personal safety to the side in order to protect our right to free speech.

However, let's not forget in excercising that right that Everyone of us has an opinion, and often with a sensitive subject as this, that opinion was sometimes born from tragic circumstance. Excercise a little judgement, a little tolerance, a little compassion. The same things you want returned to you.

But I digress.

The fact is, IMHO, life has shown me that there are reasons to terminate a pregnancy, forcing me to long ago grow from my once black and white 'no, never' mentality. The health of the mother as only one example.

I do not believe it should be used as a form of birth control. I have not yet abandoned a sense of responsibility for my actions.

I also don't think that such a personal matter should be left in the hands of legislation. It is more a moral issue than a legal one.

However, it simply does not ring fair to my ears or heart that the decision to continue or terminate lies in the hands of only one of the parties involved.

I will elaborate no further. I have humbly stated my opinion. It seems that to do more will only fall on deaf ears. I will also not return to this forum. I leave it to you, returning instead to my rule of avoiding flamable areas such as this where there is no immediate answer.

I will however, apologize if my previous choice of words have offended anyone here.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I wish you All the Best.
