"Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. Revelation 20:11-12

All of us well face Judgement Day, and I think God can figure it out or the mentally challenged will be able to choose to know God or not to. I also believe as stated earlier that all children or those with the mind of children will be taken to God. But also think this may cover your islander question.

I have a cousin who is challenged and still at the age of 5 knew who Jesus was and was baptized at 9. From my work with her and her school I think if anything they have a much easier time grasping the concept and accepting it whole heartedly with out the questions we bring about religion. flowerforyou

I have a niece who is

do they know what God is because WE tell them or because God tells them? why doesn't anyone tell the islander?

Better question. Yet... maybe someone is out there trying to tell said islander. It happens every day.

what if mormons get to him before christians, or muslims before mormons or hindus before the muslims....this guy is going to be one confused islander

To answer this question...we are all given the chance to hear the truth...it is only our decision to decide what to believe. If a Mormon got to the islander first...then the Christian tries to minister to the islander...it is only the islander's decision...go with the Mormon or go with the Christian? By judgment day, God will tell the islander that he did send a messenger to talk to him about Jesus. It will be his loss.

first this doesn't make any sense, how is he supposed to know which one is correct? why should he be judged on his ignorance? secondly, no not everyone hears of jesus before they die, this is a myth, many people before the "information age" that we live in now, never heard of his name. you are thinking that the world has always been the way it is now, this is incorrect. what happened to these people that never heard of him?

Okay...so I see where you are thinking...you are looking at people who live in the time where communication and tech, and billboards don't exist. Think of it this way...I think someone said earlier about the good outweighing the bad. If the person has never heard of Jesus...never had any contact whatsoever in their lives...die and are judged...God will only be the one to decide if they can enter in or not. Yes it wouldn't be right to die without knowing...but how they live their lives will make a big difference. But...I think I better hold my peace on this because I am not the one to judge...I just type my thoughts. flowerforyou

don't you think we should have the right to know how we will be judged?

And that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I meant abstract. Just because it is difficult to understand does not mean illogical.

Also, if we knew how we are to be judged... then what use would be faith. We know how to find resolution... that should be enough for a believer.

I would disagree with this phrase towards God...he knows what he's doing...but here I will end my comments. I will only restate and continue to restate that only God can decide. He won't wrongfully judge those who don't know. Here is my peace...take care...good night...hope you find what you are searching for.glasses

If he has never heard of Jesus and had no one in his entire life try to witness to him...then he is going to heaven...weird but true. Every person in their lives will be witnessed and it is their choice to take it in or walk away. (The islander Question)

wait, he has a free ticket to heaven, even if he murdered and did not forgive, adultered and did not forgive, stole and did not forgive??? you have to be joking

Um... you mean repent. And no, for another C.S. Lewis piece to be paraphrased (it's not right in front of me, but I have the book): 'Anything of good you have done in my name, and anything of evil you have done in his.'

yeah, but the islander has never heard of jesus, do you see the problem here?

No Namer.....God gives EVERY man EVERY opportunity to know God.
God is a JUST and MERCIFUL GOD.

And No Namer...IF perchance, there was NO MAN to witness to a handicapped man on an island alone, God would then send ministering angels to bring the gospel to him.
Some way..some how...God would reach him.

Btw.....The mentally handicapped may be handicapped mentally, but their spirit man is fine....meaning they are still able to recieve on a spiritual level, even if they are handicapped.
And btw, some handicapped people are even more spiritual than some non handicapped people .

But for anyone ,who has NOT heard and understood about Jesus(due to inability to comprehend), God will NOT hold that person accountable(babies and the severely mentally handicapped includied here).

But again, God is Spirit and reaches man's spirit, and that means God can by passes the mind, even if the mind does not fully understand.

Example......my pa had alzheimers..but the Word of God went past his mind and reached his spirit.
Cause Papa comprehended the Word just fine ...casue He was a born again in his SPIRIT, NOT his mind.

See....It is the spirit of man that is born again and made alive By God, NOT the mind of man.
The MIND of man must be daily renewed with the Word of God.....and btw, that is man's job to renew his mind with the Word, not God's Job.

Going back to my pappa now...I used to stand behind and watch my pappa ,while he read his bible...and I would standf and watch him read word for word...right down each page.

And Pappa would not put that bible down for hours!!
He was actually reading God's Word and enjoying it!!

BUT..if I would give pappa a magazine to read, he would lay it down in 2 minutes flat.
He wouldbarely lok at the magazine.
But....
When I would give pappa the Bible back to read again, He would read for hours!!

See....THAT'S the POWER of GOd's WOrd... that is even able to reach down, and get past Alzeimers!!

Then before my beloved pappa went home to be with Jesus, he stopped reading and comprehending.
When he stopped reading, I knew it was his time to go home, and I was right....pappa went home shortly afterwards .sad
But pappa was saved ,and loved the Lord....and even with Alzheimers, he stil was able to comprehend God's Word thru his born again spirit.

So you see,The annointed Word of God was able to reach PAST his alzheimers...and reached down into pappa's spirit man.

God is Spirit..and His Word can bypass the mind, and reach our born again spirit.

Same with God reaching the handicapped...God's Spirit reaches man's spirit anyway....not his mind....and so therefore a mentally handicapped person, is stil able to understand and recieve God, in his spirit!!!

I have seen handicapped people even praying in tongues....cause their spirit man is completely fine and whole, even if they are handicapped mentally or otherwise.

Worship music was playing everywhere I went, and the whole atmosphere in that handicapped community , was filled with nothing less than God's purest love.

I wept as I watched and mingled with these beautiful childlike souls....sad
and remember thinking ..if only the whole world could be as these special people were that day.

I shall never forget that experience .

handicapped go to heaven? they could not possibly know who jesus is. so?

no name.

I see five pages of circular discussion and still you have not found your answer.

you mention Jesus, and I assume you have some understanding that Jesus is the Judge of mankind, whether or not any knows Him or not.

Reading the Holy Bible is agood idea for getting some answers.

Jesus spoke to this, wrapped in a story depicting the judgement of God, when we all will see him in his glory at The Judgement.

I will simplify it for you.

In this story, Jesus identifies himself with all left wanting of something that could have been provided by the advantaged and privileged in life.

He also identifies himself with those that meet the lack suffered by others.

What is not in this story is the Church of Jesus Christ.

What is in this storu is the blessed inheritance of the righteous. They are not the Church of Jesus Christ in that He specifically says that these righteous ones do not know him.

The Church knows Jesus and Jesus knows the Church.

The Church of Jesus Christ is judged aLREADY, AND THE EVIDENCE IF THAT IS THE hOLY sPIRIT GIVEN THE cHURCH, INDIVIDUALLY. tHESE ARE CALLED SAINTS, OR BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF THE lORD. OOPS. I hit the caplock key.

Here is the story. Read it.

Matthew 25: 31-46.(Jesus' words)

God bless you.

God bless you.

circular discussion? even if it is, it makes more sense than what you just said. any EMOTION can be justified, that is similar to what you just did.

and every excuse to not commit yourself to anything is a pursuit not original by your device.

justified you are in making excuses for yourself.

enjoy your search for more.

They are endlessly imaginative.

you are poetic, but ignorant, and your poetic ability does not hide your ignorance... i am guessing you are probably one of those people who think the world is only 6000 years old

my point is, there are no real rules for the unlimated amount of possibilities of the way people live. you think life is black and white, when it is really grey; and multiple shades of it.

you can make up all the excuses (and that is what they are because nothing you say is really in the bible) you may pick and chose and try to interpret things in an abstract fashion to make these things fit, but reality is, God would not try to be confusing. if he gave us a book it would be to the point of his expectations of us... the bible just does not do that.

your missing the point of what these others are saying.you dont need to be able to comprehend who or what GOD is(who of us can really understand him in his fullness anyway)In the bible Jesus says that having the faith of a child is the best way to be and children cant comprehend who he is,same thing with the handicapped, there souls work just fine and since they have the faith of a chld thats all they need.Besides its not up to us to decide or even question if one person or another should go to heaven. That is GODs job.
