I just watched this on HISTORY CHANNEL. Show was called "Crude"

Oil production in USA PEAKED in 1964 and dropping ever since.
Oil production in WORLD PEAKED in 2006.

DEMAND continues to RISE!

We are headed for a problem in the near future and it will take a CRISIS to get everyone off their BUTTS and solve the problem.

Embarrassed for copying and pasting sensationalist propaganda based on neo-science rather than real facts, no doubt.

Either that, or it's one of those, "Let's toss a hand grenade into a room to see how much panic is induced until somebody notices that the pin is still in it".

instead of driving everywhere

that will help everyone

and heck...

i would love it if we go back to riding horses

This article is bull crap.

We are sitting on 2 Trillion barrels of untapped oil in the Green River Formation here in the US. And, there is billions in Alaska and off the coast as well waiting for us to tap.

Up in northern PA right now there is also a HUGE natural gas tapping, estimated to yield enough to sustain for 50 years.

I'm afraid you are a little off on that..in Pennsylvania, they tapped into an underground holding area for illegals from Mexico. Since they have been on diets of tacos and burritos, the "natural gas" supply is very high. noway  laugh flowerforyou

hmmm... maybe you are right about that...lol

But seriously.

We are sitting on a treasure of natural resources that the environmentalists have been preventing from being tapped for decades now. The last oil refinery was built in the 1970s!!!! All our current refineries have only been updated, no new ones have been built, and they are out of date.

In North Dakota a new oil platform has begun drilling, they will make profit AS LONG AS oil is above $50 per barrel!

TAP our natural reserves! Use it in steady supply on top of foreign oil. Gas prices will fall dramatically.

No doubt in no more than 50 years we will have a cheap, effective, enviro-friendly infinite energy source. It won't be too long from now. The 50 years is the absolute worst case scenario. But, considering how insane computer tech has boomed in the last 5 years alone, we are in a tech boom, the discovery will be made.

Oh I totaly agree and your facts are correct. They are just using scare bs and an excuse to pump up the prices again. huh

But who is doing the scaring?

I saw that History Channel "Crude" documentary. It had to be the most doomful doomsday program I have ever seen on that channel and they have been playing Nostradamus and End of Days crap non-stop. The "Crude" show took the cake over all of them though. The History Channel is anything but Republican, Globalist, or whatever you deem evil.

The Oil Companies would LOOOOOOVE to tap that stuff, but they are the ones being prevented of doing so. It's the darn future traders and the high demand of oil causing the prices to go crazy. This booo the oil companies thing is dumb, they make 9 cents profit on every barrel of oil! That is insanity. That is an absolutely horrendous profit margin.

Oh, its a complexity of people/entities that are doing the "scaring". Basically anyone who is making large amounts of money from it...Bush/Cheney are making a mint! As I pointed out in other threads, Cheney claimed to have made 2.6 million in 2007. He makes $225K as VP. the rest came from Haliburton and OIL PROFITS!

And its not just them, its the "futures" folk's as well as you pointed out. And many others.

Simply look at anyone who is making a ton of money from the oil profits and in most cases, not all, they have involvement.

Of course there are great resources untapped. And by keeping them untapped, it keeps supply in check. Therefore demand remains steady...and so does the "OUTLOOK" (I stress this word because it is its PERCEPTION that is the controlling factor) on supply.

So all the "manipulators" are having a field day with it and no one is doing anything to stop them. Fuel is around .37 a gallon in Iran and about the same in a few places in South America.

The money rules. Always has, always will. And there will be a collapse of America and it will end its short-lived super power status (less than 200 years) China may be the next up and coming "empire". It cycles through the ages.

"Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it." Humans are basically stupid creatures in many ways (yes that INLCUDES ME...same reason I have to explain this little bit is why the world is in such trouble). We are just going through the cycle now. unfortunately we, as America, are on the downturn side. flowerforyou

This is all scare tactics, mainly put out by the oil companies to keep prices of crude oil high. We will never run out of oil, it is a naturally occuring substance, and contrary to popular belief, the Earth actually pumps this stuff out. Read "Black Gold Stranglehold" by Jerome Corsi and Craig Smith to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
