Madison--in that you've invoked a spiritual dimension to your latest tome I trust you'll not hold against me if I should decide to pray that you go back to posting the thoughts of others?

The pope kindly prayed for the families of molested boys, I would suggest you add your prayers to that cause

You shall have no other gods before me,

You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,

...so what part of these commandments do the papists fail to understand? The Pope is a false idol, to worship him, to bow before him, is to go against gods commandments...I am constantly amazed by the contradictions by which people of the Catholic faith live.

Personally I would think that the pope would speak out against war of any kind. I beleive with his political influence, which, he does have lots of, he would use it to speak for peace as part of his religious doctrine.

We Catholics do not see the pope as a god or god. He is the highest religious leader in the church however and as such deserves respect. Esp when you consider how big the Catholic religion is!

He is a man just like me, but his spiritual responsibilities are extraordinaire. I like this Pope, but God he aint!!

I take it you didnt see him and Bush together? smileing for the cameras? I almost heaved

Please do. Maybe it will get rid of some of that bile you carry around constantly. And for those who cannot figure out why Madison posted this - someone like the Pope does not belong in his Camelot.
That, and anything that comes near Bush of course, must automatically be evil.

Madison - here is a thought - Why don't you first try putting up real pictures of yourself, instead of various form of satire pictures. Second - realize that posts such as these do nothing to promote yourself as an "enlighten intellectual" that you seem to want to portray. It in fact makes you look base, and low.

Look around the thread here a bit. LonelyWalker, mnhiker, whom I rarely agree with, are even telling you that you are wrong. Fanta, who I agree with only about 50% of the time is saying the same thing. And here, each one of us - is saying to some extent or another that you are wrong, and perhaps spewing your venom in the improper direction.

Of course, you have your Camelot, in which you are king, and you have all the answers, right? Too bad we all cannot share the perfect world you see.

wow ... now we have people putting words into the pope's mouth that he didn't say???? we must have some mind readers in here or something (dripping with sarcasm) I'm not catholic so I'm not really concerned what was said anyway but it's kinda scarey that people can speak for what someone DIDN'T say

madman:

Your intimidation by Pope Benedict XVI can be cast aside now.

Get a life. Pope Benedict XVI went back to the Vatican last night.

I am Protestant, but that man is an extremely holy man, I greatly admire him.

What GOOD for humanity will YOU be doing at his age? WELL??????

The pope scares the hell outta me..all that power, all that control over the masses that so willingly submit to his rule. And no one to hold him accountable for it..oh wait, of course,.. there is god watching from above....that makes me feel soooooo much better.

so lets say you got lucky and you were issued an invitation to meet "His holiness" (the title alone wreaks of idolotry but thats just my opinion)what would you do? Just shake his hand out of "respect"? Or would you bow and kiss his ring? Be honest with yourself..you'd break god's commandment and worship the false idol.

Looking every bit like darth sideouse of star wars fame the pope comes to Uber Amerika and this is what he didnt say" People of america, my sheeplike masses your hard earned tax dollars are being wasted spilling the blood of innocents in Iraq why do you not hold your leaders accountable for not practising the word of jesus? Peace and love! they claim to be men of god there deeds are that of the devil. I urge you all to pray for an end to the needles human suffering in iraq and let our planets dwindling resourses be used to eleviate human suffering not create it..........AMEN
P.S. Dear Lord thank you letting Madman enter something that wasn't cut in paste for a change. But would it be too much to ask to get him a spell checker? (No wonder he cuts and paste)laugh

got to love your assumptions. You said it yourself though....he has control over those that so WILLINGLY submit to his rule. but guess what...he doesn't have so much power and control. I'm not catholic and to me he is just a man. I can respect those who think different but he has no control over me and will not.

it is very arrogant of you to assume that TLW would bow down t him. can you read minds or predict what someone you don't even know will do???? if so..you must have a lot of power and control and THAT scares ME

good point but what if you don't see the pope as the same as catholics might? to me, the pope saying something is a sin is no different than any other human saying something is a sin
