Topic: the mindless sheeple who support the war | |

The longer this phycopathic nightmare drags on the more apparent all the brainwashing and propoganda become. What a con job they had to pull off to make there ambitions for Iraqi oil come to fruitiition. While our sons and daughters bleed in the sand the oil companies pull down record profits each quarter KBR and Halliburton and the other usual suspects are laughing all the way to the bank, and you folks who continue to enable this nonsence should just hang your heads in shame and beg for forgiveness

Why do people feel the need to start pointless arguments like this?
I'm not going to argue with you, mate. You've already made up your mind. |

The U.S. government is probably the most corrupt government in the world. If it was up to me , I'd take all the politicians and the generals and put them against a wall and shoot them.

The U.S. government sucks. Its only for the rich. It used to be an honorable thing to pledge loyalty to the U.S. government but now your just a fool if you do.

If McCain should win I hope all you guys will respect the fact that you were in the minority and that America has spoken. Or will you once again say the voters were ignorant and bamboosled....

You know Madison, I can respect that good people disagree about the war, about politics and about the best way to run a government. Respect to the point of being able to have civil discourse and even spirited debates. But what I don't respect is seeing post topics that look like yours. Mindless Sheeple? Is that supposed to be clever? Do you think it original or even vaguely inspiring?
You really do nothing to add to the solution. Your calling people names doesn't make them want to learn or try to understand your point of view. It makes most (including me) think: "Huh, this guy obviously disagrees with the war but why does he feel the need to insult those who hold a different view?" I don't think threads like this add anything to the picture. They won't change minds already made up and they won't sway those who have cause to reconsider their stance. Perhaps if you had sought to inform, to educate, and above all to treat those who don't agree with you as something more than a group of morons, you'd have better luck. Then again, maybe that is not your goal. -Drew |

I find it rude either way, but just pointing out it isn't always the liberals that attack others in the form of words. |

Fair points made in response to the original post. I think it's also worth pointing out that the original post message got completely lost as every response has been about the delivery and not the point of the message. Anyway, I don't care if the BS attacks come from the right or from the left--addressing people as stupid or mindless or just bad form.

Intelligence reports indicate that Al Quaeda is running out of viable fighters. Certainly they aren't running out of suicide bombers, but the grand terrorist organization is actually starting to run out of "soldiers" to use in their plans. Many of their higher ups are on the verge of giving up.
The Iraqi populace, while not entirely happy that we are there, have been helping out much more often with giving intel and pointing out known areas of resistance. The troop surge has been working, as reporters coming back have noted, many areas that were previously unpassable even in armored vehicle they were able to patrol on foot with the troops. Saying that we aren't spreading freedom because "X country is bad, Y country is committing this atrocity" is perhaps the dumbest argument anyone's ever made. That's like saying, "We were the bad guys in WWII because we never took out the Soviets, and they were mass murdering as well." Guess what? You can't fix the whole world, and if you feel some nation is such a threat, go do something about it yourself. Until then, shut up. It's so easy to report "Oh, these people don't like us," or, "Look at the # of casualties!" but if you took time and actually studied the info, you'd see quite clearly that things are improving. Now, I'm not saying this in any way to defend the current administration. If you would remember, Donny Rumsfeld fired a few of our military leaders for disagreeing with him on numbers. If we had gone in with the reccommended number of troops and spent what we needed to in the beginning, things might be wrapping up now. It is a hard battle, but we're doing better, and people should realize that. |
