Unfortunately Linux is a great OS for those who want to learn more about Linux. It's not for the mainstream right now or for the foreseeable future. You can go through a lot of trouble sometimes just to set up simple things or get programs running correctly.

Hmmm...I don't see that lasting very long. I've traveled to San Diego one time, but I guess it depends on how well we get along when talking and how long we've known each other.

There was a lot of text, and I really didn't bother to read much of it other than the first post so I apologize if this has been said already but it sounds like your son resents you more than he lets on. Not inviting your mother is a pretty big deal although I can understand him thinking you wouldn't come if you hated his fiancée.

I think you should have a heart to heart with him and get on the same page. Let him know exactly how you feel and see if you guys can get past this resentment. If you can, then you should be able to go without any guilt and your relationship with him will be the better for it.

I dunno, I have an iPhone and have used a Mac before. I'm not a rabid Mac fanboy that buys everything with the Apple logo on it like some people do. Now the iPad is cool and all, but I can do just about all of that on my iPhone. Plus, as a guy, where the hell am I supposed to carry that thing? At least girls have those giganto purses they can stick it in.

PC's get slow because of the user, they don't know how to upkeep it and let it get chock full of spyware which slows it down. The Macs aren't any faster than my PC (they both use Intel processors) and they are not virus proof like some people seem to think. If they were then there wouldn't be any anti-virus programs that run on Mac now would there? It's just not worth a hackers time to try and create a virus for a Mac, all government / financial / big money type customers use PC's which is why you see so many viruses written for PC's.

If you don't have an iPhone and really want one and will use apps / capabilities, then go for it. Otherwise it seems to be somewhat of a waste of money.

While I do like nurses, ninjas and hot chicks are two of my favorite things. How can you not like that combination!
