Eek! I would definately do some research before going over because if one gets to your house... you might get infested! And they are very difficult to get rid of!
http://bedbugger.com/2006/11/02/faq-how-can-i-avoid-spreading-bedbugs-to-others-when-i-visit-their-homes/ There was bad infestations when I lived in Detroit a couple years ago. And now that I have moved they are spreading. There are a couple apartments in my complex that have had bed bugs! I am crossing my fingers that they stay or die where they are! |

Really? She said she called Orkin, I guess I better take care, not go over till she says the coast is clear. Never knew about these little "suckers" before.

A family member just informed me they have bedbugs, should I be alarmed? should I go visit them? If you go visit them don't sit on the furniture and don't stand in one place too long. Bedbugs are hitchhikers and they are really small. If they have came to your house in the last six months or so, you should spray your house down real good just in case. They are one of the hardest things to get rid of once you get them. I had the joy about 10 years ago. My children's friends brought them into my house. It took me many many cans of spray and three months to get rid of them. |

Bedbugs do not come from dirt or dirty people. That is not true.
Clean people get them. They are like head lice, if you get exposed you have them. |

Well my relative is very clean, she is beside herself, she does travel alot and thinks she might have picked them up. |

Beg bugs have been coming back to the United States from international students, immigrants, and travelers. It isn't that these individuals are dirty. Some may be poor and can't afford to get rid of the bugs and/or in some countries they live with them because it's so hard to get rid of them. More and more people are traveling to 'exotic' and 'remote' areas, they are more likely to pick up the bugs because they may be sleeping on mats on the ground. It isn't because they are dirty or don't clean their homes or whatever.... it's just they way it is sometimes. Your house could be spotless, but because you live in cramped living conditions, slum apartments and your beding is on the floor, you will get bed bugs. |

They live where people live, no matter whether they are clean or not. |

Tanya buy some head lice spray, it works for bed bugs and spray your mattresses especially around the creases and button holes and spray your couches and chairs, anything that is cloth. Leather they don't like so much. If you can turn over the furniture and get the underside in all the creases. The will prevent them from living if they migrate to your apartment. |

I'll be sure to do that soon. I don't think they are in any of the buildings close to me... but it still gives me the hebbie-jebbies! |

I've heard canabis repels them and heavy smokers rarely get them. Maybe you should take up weed. Of course it could just be heavy smokers are too stoned to notice they have them.

Sadly that isn't true. My kids friends were heavy weed smokers and most of my kids are too. That didn't stop them at any level as far as I could see. |
