Here goes..... take the good, and chuck the bad! Happy reading!

Years of the Rooster
...1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017, 2029

The rooster is almost the epitome of fidelity and punctuality. For ancestors who had no alarm clocks, the rooster's crowing was significant, as it could awaken people to get up and start to work. Another symbolic meaning this creature carries is exorcising evil spirits. People used to worship ancestors and believed in fortune telling for a long time.

Personality: Strengths
They are deep thinkers considered to be honest, bright, communicative, ambitious, capable and warm-hearted. Strong self-respect and seldom relying on others are their basic characteristics. As most roosters are born pretty or handsome, they prefer to dress up. They have a quick mind and hot temper. They like to be busy and neat. They are not reluctant to fall behind others and hate dawdlers.

Personality: Weaknesses
They might be enthusiastic about something quickly, but soon might be impassive. They are often a bit eccentric and have difficulty relating with others. They are critical and think they are always right. Like their fortunes, their emotions swing from very high very slow. They can be positive but selfish, caustic and too outspoken. They are narrow-minded and vain. They probably refuse suggestions but would like to lecture others. If they can overcome their arrogance being sincerely in speaking, they will make more progress.

Fortune Foretelling in 2015
Roosters will generally have good fortune in 2015. As long as they are willing to try hard, business people and the working class both will achieve great things. Income will increase, but they should make a detailed plan for all expenses. Neither lending money nor loans is suggested. Sometimes they may feel down and traveling will help. In relationships, singles won’t find their love, so it is better to focus on work or study.

Career: Their career will have its ups and downs. They should show their full capabilities in the first half of the year, and their boss will start to pay attention to them. Under this circumstance, they can expect a promotion. In the second half year, as long as they control their temper and focus on team work, they will make much progress. For those who have heaps of spare time, they should make full use of their time for further study. It will be helpful for a more challenging job in the future. In 2015, roosters should act more and speak little.

Wealth: They will have a stable fortune in wealth. Generally, good fortune gathers in October and November, and they should think twice about any risky investment in February, April, June and September. In the first half of 2015, their jobs are the main source of income. They can consider taking one or several part-time jobs. In the second half of the year, they can make a proper investment, such as purchasing stocks or bonds. Roosters born in the year of 1969 should not lend money to others, or the money will never return.

Relationships: Singles may encounter several potential pursuers in the first half of 2015, but it seems that none of them will be the right person. In the second half of the year, they are more likely to find their love. They should get to know a person well before getting into a serious relationship. Lovers and couples may have some arguments with their partners. Mutual trust and communication will make their relationship stable. They should never lose patience, or there is the risk of breaking up.

Health: They will generally be healthy in 2015 and will hardly ever get sick. However, they may feel pressed and upset sometimes. Under these circumstances, they should speak about it to others or do some sports to relax. If eating too much, they may feel uncomfortable in their intestines and stomach, so they should watch their diet, especially in the first half of the year. In the second half year, avoid staying up late and be careful driving to avoid any traffic accident.

Study: Rooster students will work hard but gain little in 2015. They should not feel stressed due to this. Instead, they should allocate their time for study and relaxation carefully. Keep a harmonious relationship with classmates and teachers who can help roosters in their study.

Qing Ming for me has always being to go to the cemetery, clean the surrounding and tomb, bring offering of food and paper paraphernalia to pray to our ancestors.

Over the years, the practice of just going there to pray has taken a twist with a positive trend. It was tradition that daughters who are married prays at their in-law's side, and are not allowed to pray at their own father/mother's grave. But this has slowly changed, and they are allowed to nowadays, with certain conditions that the sons pray first, then the daughters who are not married, and then the ones who are married last. And the traditional food items has changed to the food the departed used to like.... instead of steamed chicken, some buy KFC. Some even light cigarettes, serve black coffee and other types of gourmet coffee (instead of just the traditional chinese tea).

The paper paraphernalia has also undergone vast changes over the years.
Traditionally, gold/silver paper folded to resemble gold/silver ingots, clothes in traditional designs, shoes/etc. were burnt.

In recent years, modern paper paraphernalia like iPads, iPhone, laptops, computers, LCD TVs, cars and a lot more that boggles the mind are sold and used by the modern and younger generations.

But all in all, it is the thought that counts and that the tradition gets carried down to the future generations.

Hehehehe...... actually she is asking where she can find a good cafe somewhere in Dumai, Indonesia!

Most Indonesians like their coffee and tea sweet.... and I mean really really sweet!

Nothing wrong with that.

Tea should be sweet enough, to stand a spoon in.

Well.... nothing really wrong! Just that it is tea or coffee I want to drink, not sugar water!
To stand a spoon in something sweet? Might as well not add water to the sugar then laugh laugh laugh

Love both, but if I have to choose then it will be Coffee.

At our local coffee shops, we have what we call the 'cham' (a chinese term) which literally translates to 'mix' of tea & coffee. Not my favorite though, I prefer one at a time.

To be fair to prithvii.... I think he is by far the most polite of the young guys from his region in our forums. He has kept his cool, and not been overly rude even though some of us have jumped on him.

Where I am from, intermarriages between the blacks (Indians) and white, or should I say peach/beige/yellow (Chinese) are common. And I had an Indian boyfriend along the lines of 'tall, dark and handsome' in my younger days. Back then, it was frowned upon, but it wasn't the reason we broke up. I still find the modern Indian fascinating..... especially if he is learned, courteous, knowledgeable and a good conversationalist.

I also have a Mingle friend who is an Indian but is a fellow countryman and corresponded with some from Delhi too who are closer to my age.

So, prithvii.... it can happen! Just don't follow the paths of the numerous young guys wanting that green ticket to the west. Be who you are, courteous, respectful and someone might like you for what you are.

Yes, Pansy..... divorce is still frowned upon, and I was one who kept up appearances for years...more for the sake of my children, then for the family though. But it is fast getting acceptance in the society, and family members are coming out in support of a family member who is not happy in a marriage for certain reasons not of their doing.

Sad to say, in some countries (not going to mention which), 'honor killing' of a family member is still known to be happening.... due to divorce, cheating by a spouse (normally woman) and even speaking out.

To break away from the norm, I guess it all boils down to where you are at, and the people in your current life & surrounding. It helps to really 'break away' by 'leaving the nest' and venturing out there somewhere .... be in the right environment to find your own path and footing. To be somewhere away where you can learn and be able to do what you want or speak out without worrying about being chastised by family/clan/community.

like 'em or not... they're still family. who you are now is a product of where you come from... for better or for worse... one can only rise to the occasion...

do you believe that the basic foundation that color and affect our current and future relationships is based on our family life...? if so, by how much...?

I'm referring to this ..."unacceptable lifestyles and partners "

Coming from an Asian country, our upbringing is different from the western countries where children have been encouraged to have their own mind, speak their mind, act on what they want and not what the family wants.

Asian families are getting there....slowly but surely, some faster, some slower....... I'm afraid some not even allowed to depending on their gender. I know some people will find this hard to believe that this kind of control still exists, but it does.

Even now, some of our youngsters ...in their early twenties from here who are studying overseas (US, UK or Australia are popular choices) who get involved with whites (seldom blacks) have been known to fear divulging this fact to their family! Some families are ok with it, some accept it reluctantly, and some embrace it.

I will be honest for myself. I don't cheat. Why do women cheat? Many reasons. Sex, money, attention, revenge, under the influence, temporary insanity, passed out, rape?

This is so out of line.......something is seriously wrong with your way of thinking!
