I’m thinking about the statistical impossibility of there being over 200 profiles of single women in a small mountain town with a population of 1805 people. It boggles.

Though, I do have a logical conclusion as to the ‘why’. But, I’d be branded a CT if I announced it publicly.

My best gift was a thank you for setting up some meals and snacks for a bedridden friend who just got out of the hospital.

Snowing for the last 20 hours now, with lots more showing on the radar. Which is a sorta gift in itself.

Walmart uses a company called “Spark”, that uses independent contractors on an app. Albertsons and others tend to use Instacart for their deliveries, which is also IC’s on an app.

On the delivery end, we scan the barcodes of the requested item, to be sure we actually have the correct item. Substituting is based on available options. Personally, I try to get something as close to the original as possible. Sometimes that is not possible, as the supply chain dictates what the store receives. (ProTip: pre-select an alternate choice in the app, so if the store is sold out, there is already an approved substitute.) The app has a chat function, so I advise the customer of the options, often with pics of the shelf displaying the items. Also, when we start your order, the system sends the customer a text informing them that it has begun, try to be available just in case your shopper needs your input. They might be out of the size you want, but other sizes may be available. If I’ve texted my customer and do not get a reply, I will either choose for you or refund that item, as I will NOT wait for 10 minutes in the aisle to see if I get a reply.

I only have one rule, if I wouldn’t buy the item for myself, I won’t buy it for you. This is about package integrity, and quality of the meat or produce requested, not personal taste.

No, since it was too much to pay for the squab entree, and it was at The Queen Mary. It might have been nice to catch-up with some old faces, but on second thought, why ruin some sweet memories with a headlong crash into reality.

Those that I wanted to stay in contact with, I did. The others, meh.
