Question 1...doesn't matter, I'd still tell. The reason is that we are assuming that one party only is my friend. If it's both parties....that's tricky because it is not clear as to where my loyalties lie. In that situation I'd let them sort it out themselves and try to be a friendly ear to both. That way I might be able to see that they are only hurting themselves with their behavior.

Question 2...Absolutely. If there is a cheating spouse, then the marriage is already destroyed

Sappy doesn't really work for me...not all the time anyway. Sure it's fun to get all sticky every now and again, but it's way more fun to laugh. I save the sappy/sticky stuff for people I get to see offline

As for me, I love with my heart, my whole heart and nothing but my heart. I have varying degrees of love of course...but in the end it all comes from one place.

I don't let other people dictate my actions either, which can be difficult when I love somebody (because love is unconditional).

However, my brain helps me to be smart about it. Even if I love someone, that doesn't make them infallible, and it doesn't mean they love me back. I have to be cold and intellectual in realizing that my love is one-sided, that I need to love myself and not become a doormat. Too, when a loved one does something inappropriate, I have to give them tough-love. No matter what type of love I'm giving though, it always comes from the heart.

The way I have always looked at the whole, "Ask and ye shall receive," philosophy - which also needs to maintain harmony with "free-will" is this:

Many of us will have influential people in our lives, people whom we idolize, admire, and seek to emulate. For me, morally the person that acts as my mentor is my father. Not because he helps me with any situation that ask him to help me with, but because by his example and by all that he has taught me he continually helps me in everything that I do.

In the same way, Jesus/God helps us whenever we ask it; by praying we are recalling the Lord and are able to draw strength from the knowledge that should we truly need it, He is there. However, He knows better what we need, allowing us to fall at times, and then pick ourselves up. With God, prayer is that phone call you make to your folks, or to a mentor when you need to feel good...you know the one.

It's not really a tough decision for me, I'd tell the friend. I might lose the friend that way, but I don't really have a choice. To me, it's about what is right, and what isn't. To let my friend be deceived like that is unacceptable.

I think of it this way, if my friend wanted to buy a car, and I could tell that he was about to be ripped off, I would tell my friend what I knew to be true and why...if they didn't believe me I'd drop the issue and let make their decision.

Basically this is just a more verbose version of Allsmiles comment, but it was a comment worth repeating.
