... nice (guys) don't finish last, that is just a myth developed by nice guys who got shot down by the women who thought their gift was ...
more better.

or, these self-proclaimed "nice guys" got shot down because in reality they were incredibly whiny, needy, and desperate in at least a few painfully obvious ways, and the women who came in contact with these guys ran as fast as they could the other way.

Just a thought. smokin

Could be, maybe, maybe not. Even nice guys have their flaws one would suppose. I would still rather be with nice guy than a playa.
Cause nobody like to be played...played with , not played.
The wonders of the dating world. Heavy sigh

Methinks you are misunderstanding ... I'm not referring to genuine nice guys, who do not have a need to declare themselves as such. I am instead shedding light on the all-too-common occurrence of the aforementioned self-proclaimed "nice guys" who seem to thrive on playing the part of the victim when it comes to the travails of the dating world. Women whose instincts tell them to stay away from those spirit-draining parasites are absolutely correct in doing so.

gawd! how can i forget, the man with one red shoe!!!! damn that was funny!!!

Jim Belushi absolutely stole that movie right out from under Tom Hanks!

Speaking of Belushis, I can't believe it took until page 9 of this thread for someone to mention "The Blues Brothers"! huh

I still think "Liar Liar" was Jim Carrey's funniest ... "I'm kickin' my a$$ ... do you mind?" rofl

If anyone has kids and you want to see a movie with them during which you need to be very careful when you take a drink of any liquid, watch "Hercules" ... James Woods as Hades is too damn funny!

A movie from the last couple of years that surprised me how good - and funny - it was (perhaps because I had low expectations) is "What Happens In Vegas" ... "Oh, it's your turn to do the dishes." surprised

Just a couple more, from when Chevy Chase was actually funny ... "Foul Play" and "Seems Like Old Times" ... he and Goldie Hawn had FANTASTIC comedic chemistry!

Saying Goodbye to Palin
Peggy Noonan on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin:

"She went on the trail a sensation but demonstrated in the ensuing months that she was not ready to go national and in fact never would be. She was hungry, loved politics, had charm and energy, loved walking onto the stage, waving and doing the stump speech. All good. But she was not thoughtful. She was a gifted retail politician who displayed the disadvantages of being born into a point of view (in her case a form of conservatism; elsewhere and in other circumstances, it could have been a form of liberalism) and swallowing it whole: She never learned how the other sides think, or why."

"In television interviews she was out of her depth in a shallow pool. She was limited in her ability to explain and defend her positions, and sometimes in knowing them. She couldn't say what she read because she didn't read anything. She was utterly unconcerned by all this and seemed in fact rather proud of it: It was evidence of her authenticity. She experienced criticism as both partisan and cruel because she could see no truth in any of it. She wasn't thoughtful enough to know she wasn't thoughtful enough."

*** It should be noted that Peggy Noonan is a well known CONSERVATIVE columnist. ***

Not all of us on the right are tremendously fond of her, and out of the group of us that aren't, there are a number of different reasons. My hope is that this resignation stunt will put to rest any idea of her running for higher office. I did try to give her the benefit of the doubt for quite a while, and although I agree with the principles of the ideology she espouses, she has made it increasingly difficult over the course of the last ten months for me (and several other conservatives I know personally) to like or support her.

I'm not real crazy about big crowds...unless I'm packin' my Tazer on me...

Even those of us who are big-time extroverts aren't always very comfortable around "big crowds" (although I do have a lot of fun at a football game bigsmile ). Usually, I would much rather be around a group of people than hang out by myself. [I'm one of those "there are no strangers, only friends I haven't met yet" kind of people ... probably annoying to some of you, but it's just how I'm wired.] However, there are other factors that have kept me at my computer more lately.

I've been a Christian for 15 years, I go to non-denominational churches, and that I'm aware of, none of my friends or pastors would speak or even think that derogatorily of others. As a matter of fact, at the church I went to while I lived in Maryland, there were a pretty significant number of interracial couples, especially for being a relatively small church (only a few hundred members).

However, the type of behavior and thought process is just as repugnant when it happens the other way. Case in point ... Jeremiah Wright. The highly inflammatory statements he has made over the years do not help any more than the attitude of the OP's former "friend".

i need some help or advice about a relationship. i was dating a girl for 4 months and up til a few days ago we were fine. until she said that she was dating another guy on and off while she was dating me. she broke up with me for him and well i want her back. even though she made me feel like crap i still want her back. i need advice on how i can convince her that im the man she should be with and no one else

Even if she hadn't made you "feel like crap" ... if she doesn't want you, it really doesn't matter if you want her. Sorry, bud.
