Always very nostalgic for me.

Definitely a timeless classic that every generation can relate to. Very rare when a film like this comes along. Kudos to Donner & Speilberg.

Oh wow. That would suck. If I had to play 3 albums over & over, they would probably be...

Pink Floyd - The Wall
Iron Maiden - Somewhere Back In Time
Tool - Aenima

Halle Berry - Monster's Ball
Jamie Lee Curtis - True Lies
Helen Mirren - Excalibur
Nicole Kidman - To Die For
Kate Winslet - Little Children
Debbie Harry - Videodrome
Asia Argento - Marie Antionette (& pretty much every thing else she does haha)
Rebecca De Mornay - Risky Business
Rosario Dawson - 25th Hour

and of course...ALL the Bong girls.

Dude. Why would you show hatred towards someone that shares a common interest? Is that what the Death Metal community is all about? I must have missed the meeting on that one.

Nice list. I've seen a few mentioned. That scene with the animal in Cannibal Holocaust got to me. Just the whole realism of it & the poor thing was squealing. Ughhh. The turtle scene didn't bother me as much.

I found Combat Shock more absurdly amusing than depressing. Musta been the Troma label. Haha.

Don't remember much of In A Glass Cage. Must not have had that great of an impact on me.

I've been searching for a copy of Der Todesking for years. Finally had to settle on Nekromantik 1 & 2. Both very dark & depressing.

Men Behind The Sun was pretty brutal. Also (along the same lines) Philosophy of a Knife.

I actually own both versions of Goodbye Uncle Tom. Talk about some hardcore exploitation there huh? Wow...

Mondo Cane was kinda weird, but too fake.

I was jaded by my first viewing of the original I Spit On Your Grave. I must have got a bum copy because there was barely any audio. I do remember thinking that it must have been extremely brutal for it's time though.

I also own a copy of Thriller : A Cruel Picture. The only part that stands out for me was the slow motion fight scene that lasted like 20 minutes.

I must seek out the others you mentioned. I still can't find an "unwatchable" film. Hard to watch...yes. Especially anything involving animal cruelty (particularly dogs). Amores Perros was extremely hard for me, but such a great film.

Antichrist - One of the most horrific and disturbing films I have ever seen.

Ah...yes. Lars Von Trier. His films seem to have some sort of unease to them.

First time I watched Antichrist was on my laptop (with my ex), we were just getting through the opening credits (shower scene) and it froze right on Defoe's nutsack. Haha. I'll never forget that.

They just recently legalized weed in Denver. Maybe that has something to do with it. Haha.

Ok...I know this topic has been done like a million times on here, but I haven't seen it in a while, so I'm gonna refresh it.

Name some effed up films...

I'll start...

Salo - No explanation for anyone who has seen this. I brought it to film class one day & served fudge. True story.

I Stand Alone & Irreversible - Gaspar Noe must have some issues.

The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things - Asia Argento directs

Bad Boy Bubby - Hadn't seen it in a while, but I remember thinking wtf?

Ex Drummer - Kinda caught me by surprise. Pretty sick.

Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door & An American Crime (basically the same film both equally disturbing).

Visitor Q - Pretty much touches on every taboo imaginable.

Haven't seen it yet, but I heard Serbian Film tops them all. I am dying to see it, but I can't find a copy anywhere.

I have more, but I wanna read some other people's posts first.

Oh yeah, I know I stated in another post that I hate Will Ferrel films but, I really enjoyed "Everything Must Go".

He should continue doing more serious roles.

Ok. I've been gone a while & I've been watching a lot of films, so I'll try to remember everything I've watched in the last couple weeks.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark - Not bad. Better than expected.

Die Hard (all 4 films) - rewatched my favorite action series

Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door - unsettling

Natural Born Killers - rewatched another old favorite (on blu ray)

Billy Madison - favorite Sandler film

Big Daddy - saw it in the theater, hated it, so I thought I'd give it another try. Still hated it. Haha.

Mr. Deeds - Same as Big Daddy

Gangs of New York - Probably the best performance I have seen from an actor. Ever. Daniel Day-Lewis playing William Cutting. Just too good.

Nightmare on Elm Street 1-8 - I was in a mood

Paradise Lost 1 & 2 - Getting myself psyched for the third one

Bull Durham - favorite baseball film

American Pie Band Camp & Beta House - comic relief

& a bunch of "Classic Album" series on Netflix.

I also had a free credit for a movie on VUDU from my new blu-ray player. Tried to watch the Comic-Con documentary. Damn VUDU just teased me. I got through the first 5 minutes, got psyched because I knew I was gonna enjoy the hell out of it, and....then the buffering started. Couldn't watch it due to "network error", which is rather odd considering I picked the lowest possible grade to watch (SD) & I have pretty fast internet. I was extremely annoyed & disappointed.

I actually saw Paranormal Activity in the theater. Hands down...worst theater experience of my life. An hour & a half of absolutely NOTHING going on. Then the big "shocker" of the last ten minutes. I was SO glad that someone gave us free tickets, or I would have asked for my money back.

Oh wow. I'm not really sure what happened, but skimming over some of the thread I'm assuming that lex was actually a sexual predator?

And I just got done watching the film "Trust", before I signed on here.

Too weird...

What a scumbag.

the first twilight movie and the blair witch project

the acting was painfully unnatural and the scenes were monotonous and had far too many overdramatic silences and effects

Agreed. I couldn't bear the full effect of "Twilight". Had to shut it off about halfway through. And it took me about four tries to actually make it all the way through "Blair Witch". I kept falling asleep.

Don't have one. Nobody calls me, so it's always on vibrate or silent.

I don't read too much into the lyrics (for this particular genre anyway). As long as it has a good beat & melody & can move me in some emotional way.

I do enjoy how some songs (lyrics) tell a story & some of the hard core, brutal lyrics can be enjoyable. Art is subjective. Whatever it takes to get that pain or "joy" out.

RKISIT - I just moved from Tampa (birthplace of "Death Metal"). I know the club you're referring to. Ybor City. A lot of Death Metal bands also play "The State Theater" in St. Pete.

I Don't really have a favorite. A few books I read in one sitting, that I just couldn't put down.

The Bachman Books
Skeleton Crew
Different Seasons
Into The Wild
Requiem For A Dream
The Thief of Always
A Clockwork Orange

Read them all before I saw the film (except A Clockwork Orange).

It's extremely rude..and uncalled for. If the children act like that in public, what dose it say for their home life? I know I wouldn't be a visitor in their home.

Movie tickets are quite expensive for some..drinks and popcorn or candy are outrageous..Who wants to shell out that kind of money to listen to some kids make noise?

These tickets were fourteen dollars. That seems pretty high but I don't go often so I don't know the range.

I did notice a change in this showing from the last time I went. There was a screen just before the show that instructed everyone to turn their phones on silent and that if they had to answer it, they had to go to the lobby. ANYONE TEXTING DURING THE MOVIE WAS EVICTED FROM THE THEATER!

Last time I went to the movies people were texting constantly. I noticed NONE at this show.

$14?!?!?! For that amount the actors should be there in person feeding me popcorn.

No doubt. This is actually the first time I've been to theater in about 9 months. I won't pay ticket prices unless it's something epic like with a lot of awesome fx and sound.

And, I actually did get a free ticket because I complained about a group of high school girls talking through the entire film of the remake of "The Omen" (saw it in the theater 06/06/06...haha).
