hey did anyone else hear that loud boom over wichita last night? ive never heard thunder like that I heard it. It was really cool! I agree w/you. It had to have been one of the loudest and longest I have ever heard, as well. I sure would like to know how long it lasted. Scared my daughter's cats. They were cringing to the floor and looking all around mystified. The light show was amazing after that. Lots of cloud to ground lightning that was very bright. |

Guess the timing wasn't quite right! Bummer! Looks like I am headed to Bourbon Street for a birthday. It's Kareoke night - not my favorite. Kareoke tends to depress me :-( I am wanting to get out and about where the music is jamming and the people are upbeat! Anybody got anything going on tonight? Ring phone. Ring! This used to a reason to get the family together for a cookout, fire off some of the fireworks from the local stand and then head out to watch the big show.
I worked the last 2 yrs and am finding I am off this one. Probably will end up trading it off with someone who wants to do something with family. Not sure what is worse. Having to work a Holiday or having to spend it off work and alone. |

recently tried Braum's Cherry Amaretto. It is yummy! Found it by accident when I looking for a decent cherry ice cream to use for a party.
My daughter wanted a spumoni ice cream "cake" for her graduation party. The only time we can find Spumoni ice cream here is Christmas time. SPUMONI ICE CREAM "CAKE" 1-Line a rectangle Tupperware contained w/parchment paper. Crush 1 1/2 pkgs of Oreos. Pour 1/2 of crumbs in bottom of container and pat it down. 2-Layer of Blue Bunny Chocolate Champion 3-Layer of Blue Bunny Pistachio Almond 4-Layer of Braum's Cherry Amaretto 5-Spread remaining crumbs on top and pat it down. Folded over parchment paper. Put lid on and froze. When ready to serve, lift out w/parchment paper "handles", slice and serve. It was a big hit w/my daughter and her friends. |

It's a place to go to interact with people, many of them friends, but without many of the expectations. Drop in. Check the threads. Maybe respond to a few. Maybe send an email or two. I don't know that it provides comfort, but it's comfortable. Well said. |

Baby Rabbits

I have a fenced in garden area in my yard from last year. Today I planted 12 plants of lettuce in it. I then find a baby rabbit's nest in the garden. Inside of the garden!  I guess that I'm feeding baby rabbits now.  The mama rabbit is no dummy. There's food inside of the fence and a dog on the outside of the fence.
