I can relate. Been there, done that! Kind of hard to undo some brain damage from 25 years of mind control. Getting stronger and stronger every day...sometimes too over confident!

I've met 3 people from here and all have been wonderful people. But I was pretty sure of that before I met them. I have met one person from this site ^^ and chatted with a few others. I am looking forward to meeting more as hopefully some day we will have a local meet & greet. I'm with Melody on the whole conditions thing. You are attracted to who you would hope to be the perfect person for you. I have some things I am looking for specifically based on past experience and my job has placed some conditions on my future relationships, as well. Because of my work conditions, I had to say 'Goodbye' to one really great guy that I was chatting with on here that seemed to be my perfect match in so many ways. I look around and see that it is possible to find great friends here and maybe even "the one that rocks your world". It takes time, effort and a few toads, I am afraid to find your perfect mate. So, in the meantime. I am someone looking for my someone!  I wish you well - whether it be in finding someone here or locally. |

The One That Got Away

I had someone tell me this once. It was the weirdest thing. I had went to grades 4-8 with him. We saw each other at a reunion and he asked me to dance. His wife and my husband both there, too, sitting at the table.
Anyway, he had this whole fabrication of me in his head that wasn't reality! I would have liked to have met the person he thought I was. He was so taken by me that he and his wife even named their firstborn daughter after me so his wife really wanted to meet me since I am the namesake for their daughter. She even referred to me as "the one that got away". He and his wife were so sincere. Somehow I changed this guy's life! Not sure how - I was just a kid! Anyway - chalk this one up to one of those freaky moments in time that I look back on and just say HMMMMMMM. |
