I don't know if comfort is the word I would use.
Some stuff I share, other things not so much.

(I like the 'smooth jazz' station)

I don't really put my everyday life on here. I just might tell about something funny that happened or a little bit about other things.

I do find it relaxing to come here though.

Comforting, No. Therapeutic in a way, Yes.

I really don't know many of the regular forum posters here either, but I used to be an very active forum poster so I think I have some perspective about it!

I think that some people like to put things out just for shock value...and to see who will respond.

for the most part, if you are a regular forum poster there can be a lot of comfort in the discussion of everyday life things...

especially if, like me, the people do not go out to clubs/bars and such much...

the forums can give a person comfort many times in ways that others may not even realize...

the comfort of knowing that anytime you sign in...there is a friendly face...one of the closer friends are around...

the comfort of knowing that you may get some help with an issue...

the comfort of knowing that the people who have treated you well will give you some great and honest advice/help/prayers...

for some, the forums become part of their everyday life...they used to be for me...and that did give me comfort.

the everyday things can sometimes get in the way...so if you post them, then people might help you out...

the real personal details of daily life are generally not posted, those are generally discussed on the phone or in private email...so really, people generally share things that some others are going through as well...

it becomes to be a community/friendship/family/support system sometimes...and it is nice to be a part of it, and yes, it did give me great comfort at times!!

just a few thoughts about that...

I could be wrong...

Hope the jazz is smooth........

It's a place to go to interact with people, many of them friends, but without many of the expectations.

Drop in. Check the threads. Maybe respond to a few. Maybe send an email or two.

I don't know that it provides comfort, but it's comfortable.

I'm sorry, I am a little confused......

You have been here for over six months and Lighthouselover has been here a year and a half......so who is new?

You asked for answers, and she gave you a very well thought out answer, not overdone at all.
