Same thing you would do meeting a stranger in person. Introduce yourself briefly and ask a question that requires more than a yes or no answer. That should get the conversation started. If it doesn't move on. Tough lesson to learn, but better if you learn it early.

No you look fine to me. Just be patient. Posting in the forums regularly is a good way to get to know people also. Plus it fills in some of the lonely time. Look forward to seeing you around.

Alz,
I don't think that someone posting a silly comment in a "smart" thread automatically kills the subject. If it does, then I am probably guilty, but everyone has their own sense of humor and sometimes I see something in a thread that was meant to be serious, but it trips something in my brain that makes me say something inane. There is a difference though if they deliberately post something snide or insulting. |

Profile looks good to me so far. You might want to add some interests and what are you looking for specifically in a partner.
Have you tried initiating conversations or are you waiting for the women to start up the chats? If you do cold emailing, I suggest changing the subject line to something that pertains to her profile, ie..so you shoot professional fireworks shows that is cool. |

so in the 45 minutes since this thread started you reviewed all 731 of your posts and the threads that contain them and done the math to conclude that I have posted in nearly ALL of your threads and I have also insulted you in 50% of them. All while responding to hundreds of emails who not only can't help but email you for your obvious good looks but also just long to be your friend cause you're so super cool. Sheesh, someone has some time on their hands for being so busy. You're good "lady"! |

I find it pretty easy to show affection, but difficult to express emotions. Does that even make sense? Might be something in your back ground. I can relate to the emotion part as I don't show my anger ,to this day family members will piss me off and I can't respond.I have no problem crying if my feelings are hurt.I was brought up in a home where you didn't show your emotions and hugs were frowned upon.My family avoid confrentation which is not a good example for the little ones in our lives. But when I have someone in my life I am affectionate, but not clingy. I guess you are right. I'm the rock in my family, the one everyone looks to for support. So I have to be tough, just hope that I haven't lost touch with my emotions. |

I'm pretty new here too, but already have found a few posters that I don't run to as fast to check out. But even if you don't like the OP or any poster, there are always still cool people here.
