I agree with the first poster. The friends zone is something that men put women into. What I find ironic is that if women only want a man as a 'friend', guys are meant to feel inferior or like they're not real men. Yet, when I tell a female I like her just as a friend, not necessarily in a romantic way, I get chastized for being a player, not wanting to commit, being too picky, etc...

I can tell right off the bat whether I'd like a girl as a friend or someone to date. It's hard to explain why you like someone as a friend or as someone you want to have as a girlfriend/boyfriend.

I'd only call you a player if you had sex with me THEN said you only wanted to be friends.

ETA: Texas, is it ALWAYS about sex?

I do this as well. I know that I have the answer up there somewhere it is just misplaced. I believe it is called old age. smokin

Fail. I'm 32, and far from old, and I do this too. It's called having an IQ and mixing it with hyperactivity.

Talk it over with friends, family, your dog, on forums like these (without using names), etc. Just, for the love of God, NOT with your SO.

I do it, but I've dated some guys who do it WAY more than me, and it drives me totally crazy. If I tell you something, it's the truth. Don't keep asking the same damned question over and over cuz I ALREADY answered it, ya know?

Agreed. It's not "American" DNA, at all, no. And the sad truth is, food that is bad for you is WAY cheaper and easier to store than food that is good for you. A lot of people are simply lazy and/or ignorant of how their bodies actually work, yes. And in America, kids are raised to eat the worst food, which their bodies get used to, so that when they grow up, their bodies don't feel nourished or fed when given anything lighter or better for them.

It's an epidemic, true. But I was blessed with a fairly good metabolism and a positive outlook on life, so I can't judge them. I don't know the reasons for their weight, after all.

The price of organic food is outragous, like you said :)

And I still haven't figured out the anomaly for why good food doesn't taste as good as bad good for the majority. Even when children are young and unknowing, it takes effort to feed children vegetables.
Common sense would say that our bodies would crave the food that keeps it well balanced and reject the foods that are not so beneficial.

I suppose it's just another obstacle in life to teach us we can't be lazy and rely on our brains to dictate what is naturally good or bad, right or wrong

It's good to exercise the brain and the old' sense muscles. But see, many simply don't.

Yeah, I've often wondered why a salad is like 5 bucks at a fast food restaurant, but you can get a fattening burger for like less than 2. There's something wrong with that.

Dumb and low-self-esteemed. Not to mention lethargic. Yuppo folks, EASY way to control the masses!

No I'm not a conspiraist... Just a punk.

No diamonds. Ick.

For me, I'd give him something that's centered to who he is. I'd think about it carefully and make sure it was something I KNEW he, specifically, would enjoy.

I'm from a town in North Idaho near another town where a lot of celebs turn up. And where a few live. It's true, you can walk past celebs and not even realize it. And some others you can't miss. Travolta's sister lives there. Travolta can be a bit obvious even when dressed down, so to speak. I shopped at some of the same stores as Anna Duke, but never even noticed her. She had a short lived t.v. show in the church I grew up going to.

And what is it about big women that turn a man off?

Shows a lack of responsibility and care about your health. You don't realize how big America really is until you visit South Korea.

Sometimes. Sometimes it is caused by simple DNA -- bad metabolisms, and sometimes it's caused by depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, kids... the list goes on.

The Korea thing is a racial thing. Koreans are naturally smaller as a people. Look at the men especially from Norse backgrounds -- BIG guys. A lot of it is about family heritage, too.

Me, I used to think I had a terrible metabolism, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it's actually pretty good. Five kids and cooking the way I do, I should be at LEAST 300 lbs, but I'm only 150.

Course, that means that for me, anything I need to lose is simply me being lazy.

I completely agree that SOME people have to be big by DNA and health reasons. People with heart conditions cannot exercise either, but it doesn't mean they can't control what they eat. However, most BIG people who must be BIG have less fat and more muscle.

America is the country with the biggest melting pot of people with all types of DNA's from around the world. I cannot accept that American DNA is the excuse for America being the heaviest country. It's due to over-eating in a land where food is easy to afford and access...

I had a similar experience. He was off the site for about a week, even deleted his pic, and I was starting to think maybe I had gone too far... but then just today he messaged me again. happy I dunno how anything would go with him, if anything, but it WAS nice to see I hadn't run him off. laugh

I didn't read the followup, of course, but I hope the same can be said for you!

Yeah, see, no matter how they spell it, I don't respond well to being called pet names by complete strangers. Can someone say "assuming"?
