Sunday
fun day
just my son and me
savory rice and jerk chicken for tea
rubbed in the seasoning
we laughed without reasoning
then we walked in the sun
were the giggling begun
hungry we went to the shop for ice cream
he put ice down my neck i wanted to scream
the assistant just stood there and smiled at us both
then served us as quick as an old four toed sloth
miss him at weekend when he goes to the dragons
i feel like resisting and circling the wagons
but when he comes home with that smile in his eyes
makes it much more easy for friday goodbyes
now its time to draw curtains on this fatherly write
because its time for the chicken i bid you good night

Poured a cup of coffee then drank it here alone
rolled myself a cigerettee and smoked it on my own
pulled the cord out of the telephone standing in the hall
took a shower made myself smell nice but no one came to call
closed the curtains as i stood there turned out all the lights
the days are slowly breaking me and i just cant sleep at nights
im a wreck of pure emotion so many tears have found my eyes
asked the lord to ease my aching heart incase he didnt realize
im screaming in the darkness and it echo,s in my mind
how can i look to my tomorrows when its lonliness ill find
if there is a way to find me take my heart and set me free
walk a mile right here in my shoes let me taste your company

I waited my life to taste love
all it did was eat away at my soul
now each day brakes me just to walk in it
you say love waits i say love hurts

Birdsong the lovers finale

poetic justice echo,s

The long curved nack of the swan captures my gaze
river runs by my waiting fingers as i watch in silence
gracefully she glides past me almost motionless
and i reflect on the simple wonders of the life i live
free as a bird yet my wings wont take me to the clouds
heaven falls to touch me with mother natures hands
and i breath in each and every inspiring miracle
as my love for all things grow and my faith unrelenting

Lost myself in the thought of being loved
woke to find the room still with emptiness
i cover the mirror because im afraid to look
for my eyes hold me responsible for everything

Rich salubrious rain forests relenting to chainsaws and man
losing there fight for survival for they cut them as fast as they can
home to the rare woodland creatures who flee from destruction ahead
those who cant run lose there lives forging blood rivers of red
bewilderd the tribes people shaken who lived there for thousands of years .
the young and the old stand in silence there eyes full of sadness and tears .
orchids and cures for the shaman the canopy touching the sky
the giants are falling around them its a sin as we watch them all die
were once like the garden of Eden lush vegitation was rife
a desert is growing quite rapid and there changing a whole way of life .
the greed of mankind knows no limits bringing death and destruction to bare
and the children then born of tomorrow will not even know they were there .

The man of straw stands in the rain
beyond the yellow brick road
he sold his soul to buy a heart
now he reeps the seeds he sewed
because he sold himself a daydream
thinking love was just ahead
made a wish upon a shooting star
and now the wicked witch is dead
he took the slippers from the evil one
and placed them on his fairy tale
when she knew he had no heart to give
there token ship began to sail
now he stands there by the road side
thinking what they could have been
if his chest possessed a heartbeat
she could have been his emerald queen

oh the sweetest taste of summer upon my waking eyes
like a vision in a shard of light through the curtain ties
as fire trapped within a sheet ice you sparkle on the glass
now i lay here in my waking bed and watch the moment pass
you inspire me to rise up from my sleep walk a brand new day
as the coffee touches on my lips the night now slips away
the water feels so fresh as it runs down my naked chest
shoes now tied and on my feet and jeans and plain white vest
i leave the house with fishing line and walk down to the lake
find a rock to make my seat to wait as the sun begins to bake
casting out the golden line looped round my waiting fingers
i gently close my eyes to dream as the anticipation lingers
it tightens and i quickly strike i begin to draw my catch
soon the speckled fish is in my hands with spotted tail to match
as the sun begins to touch the lake the fire cooks my fish
slowly eaten with my fingers from a white enamal dish
as i lay there in the moonlight i dream of one day you here too
then ill catch us both a feast of love with my heart just for you

My love flows like a waterfall cascading across the landscape
forming lakes with the tears of all the other broken hearted
let the sun touch our heads as we again build our new dreams
asperations to find our soul mates and that someone to love
today i hold out my hand tentatively waiting to recieve yours
walk with me and whisper to each other with our eyes in silance
good hearts and true love need no words to share our feelings
we build bridges to each others hearts and gently we begin to cross
slow steady steps filled with compassion and understanding
no more the pain just kindness holding each other as we learn
