A friend and I had this discussion last night and I think it boils down to a couple questions you have to ask yourself:

How badly do I want to find love? What am I willing to sacrifice to find it? Am I OK with a LDR? Am I willing to relocate?

If you answer no to the above, then my guess is that you should put the online stuff on the back burner and focus the majority of your time and effort looking for new avenues to meet people in your own community. The scary part is that it means moving (far, possibly) out of your comfort zone - going places and trying things that are completely new and different (or you're likely to keep bumping into the same women you've already deemed unsuitable).

Sure, it's easier to scan the computer screen for new faces/possible matches, but generally speaking in life, the greater the risk/sacrifice you make for something you want to acquire, the greater the reward long term.

Hope that didn't sound trite or patronizing. If it's any consolation, I don't know even 1 single, straight male in my day-to-day life, so I understand that it's a tough go either way. Just have to stay open and positive to whatever comes along ...

Sorry to hear that ... but kudos to you for following your conscience; that'll be rewarded in time, I'm sure of it. Best of luck in your search for something new! flowerforyou

Last but not least is the extremely simple. The ones that can't even keep up their end of a conversation. Zero communication. They can't type more than 4 words. No personality. No inspiration. No motivation. No imagination. Boring. If you can't talk to me what do we have? That's right- nothing. And I'm not talking lack of common interests. I'm talking conversation that rivals pre school d!ck and jane books. See d!ck, see jane, see spot. See spot run. Run spot run! I am fine. How are you? I'm at home. I'm not doin much. Idk. Its crazy. I write 5 paragraphs and get back "oh that's nice." nothing more. Zzzzzzzzzz!!!!

If I had a dollar, no -- wait, make that a quarter, for every email or IM that I've received that started and ended with 'hey', well - it'd be freedom 38 and I'd be drinkin' margaritas on a beach somewhere. I try to give everyone a chance, I really do - I answer every email I get, but honestly sometimes the lack of effort put forth (especially in an introductory message) boggles my mind. If someone offered me a root canal during one of these 'exchanges' I'd be grateful for the escape! *not sure whether to laugh or cry*

PS: LHB, you KNOW firsthand brevity is not my shortcoming

Is there music to go with those lyrics? Cuz that'd be cool drinker

Just in my head.......laugh

Just seemed like something I could see myself blasting as I zoomed down the highway when I'm having one of those AGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! days and need some shiny, fast, black car & heavy music therapy to clear my head (and since I have zero talent to write music or lyrics, I'm counting on those of you with the know-how to fill that void! smokin )

POEMS ARE WORDS,
GROUPED BY THE SOUL....
INDIVIDUAL THEY ARE NOTHING,
BUT TOGETHER THEY ARE WHOLE....

I think I'll keep lurking and learning ... and perhaps one day I'll be brave enough to make the attempt myself. I love the power of the written word and have huge admiration and appreciation for people who can assemble it in such a way as to make it come alive and touch peoples' souls.
