religions. It is known as the Ethic of Reciprocity and has
one terribly great flaw.

How do you know that doing unto another is what will actuall
please them? To go further, you could cause them inadvertently
great harm. For example, you like peanut butter and jelly
and feed some to a child who has a severe peanut allergy
which would make them very seriously ill - perhaps even
threaten their life!

Thus - the serious study of ethics and behavior. Tread
cautiously. Attempt to be kind. Find out what others really
desire and need and be kind to them. Minimize harm.

But yes, evolution is real...and long long ago the
Ethic of Reciprocity was developed as a result of human
evolution...but we have all progressed a lot since then...

God doesn't do bad things. Being sorry and being repentant are two totally different things. Many wife beaters are sorry that they beat their wives, but they don't become repentant by trying to change their ways. Some people are never sorry or repentant, such people lack a conscience.

I am amazed that Greenspan is shocked at the breakdown in the credit markets. As well as amazed at all the economists who were insisting it wasn't a recession and insisting it wasn't going to get so bad and it would recover.

Friends and I have been discussing this for years, as we watched gas prices, as we watched prices in general, as we saw minuscule 'cost of living' increases that didn't keep up with the real cost of living increase, as we watched our credit interest rates steadily go up.

One year, I had my interest rates raised from 16.9% to 25.9%. Not because of a late payment. But because they said they were raising the interest rates to the current market standards and they refused to put the rates back. In fact this was the start of my own issues, as up until this point, I was making steady progress in getting out of debt. As everything shot up, I was then only able to make minimums and not get ahead anymore.

So, a group of people with no special education in economics other than what we saw in the news and read in the papers were able to predict what has happened this past year while so many of the trained economists and the so-called experts kept denying it and insisting it wasn't a recession and insisting it wasn't going to get this bad and insisting it
would recover more quickly than it has.

What is the problem with this picture? Ultimately, I have no faith or trust in economists and experts anymore.

I am a father. I would never wish my children to suffer.
Will they suffer in their lifetime? I know they will.
This is pain to a parent. Can I prevent their suffering?
No. Can I mitigate it? Yes, whenever I can.

All pleasantness and agreement? That would be a banquet of
bland useless vacuous nothingness. Futile and worthless as
clothing and other materialistic things.

But only if you are sorry.

Why? Nomatter what perty she is in, the World is watching. She should wear the best. She is not going to by some cheap stuff, have it dry cleaned, and wear it two days later. She was picked at the last minute. They should take care of Her. They raise Millions of Dollars every Month. That money is pocket change.
