the pageant has already been debated on
I think it is okay to allow those of us who weren't in the other thread to discuss it here.

saves time on what was already said...not in the mood to repeat my arguements. if you don't want to read what has already been said...then don't

I guess if you don't want to have to re-read what has already been say in your opinion then don't.

Who, what, and why was an openly gay man picked to judge a woman's beauty pageant?

Can you say, "NOT QUALIFIED!"

But they know fashion so much more than you straight guys!!!!

I wonder if she would have gotten so much flack if she had not added the "in my country" part?

Interesting question... Probably because people were so stuck on the basic answer I doubt they would have heard anything else. And I think that's true whether they support gay marriage or not.

her including "in my country" there, seems as if she was trying to speak for the entire country. IMHO

Okay this may work for knowledge we gain through experience, but what about the "knowing" that has been discusses here that is solely intuitive?

As far as I am concerned I have to agree with Lynne, that it is amusing to see the shoe on the other foot for a change.

I think she just meant "in my world", not so much in my country we can do whatever we want thing.

Because at first she tried to say that be finally her words were

"in my country and in my family I think that marriage should be between a man and a women, that is the way i was raised...."

Its these relationships that make up our conception of reality.

Are you then saying that data is reality?

Is then knowing, clearly only the perception of the one that believes they know? Is knowing a definition, name of a process of the mind?

Haven't they determined in quantum physics that that which is observed will change according to the desired outcome of the observer?

So the sins of the past have to be blamed on me? Wow! Well I guess I alone caused slavery, killed and forced Indians off their land, started the Civil War and other bad things.

Just because I'm a white guy doesn't mean I liked what happened in the past, I'm trying to carve out my own future and make life better for those around me, human and animal.

get over yourself. that is what white people say whenever the subjects of slavery, or indian genocide is brought up. It is a part of history and should be discussed openly, all side heard and if people need to vent let them. Don't take it personally unless you harbor racist feeling I don't see why it would effect anyone any more than discussing any other part of history.

Drew, it's because you're one of the few men on here with a profile pic of yourself dressed in a suit.

Very natty, I might add.

I'd do it myself, but I'm sure nobody cares if I'm wearing a tux or not.

It would be worth a try to see what type of girly response you get.

I applied this to teachers and politicians. Now I have been applying it to my dates, man does it ever thin the herd. LMAO

Ha! Pity you no longer care for the Church. You could just get it over with and move into a nunnery!

Think I am going to buy some toys instead.

Ok, this is it, the real deal. At the end of the day those other things do matter more to us, but what i am talking about here is making some sort of an effort to look your best. I personally don't go for pretty boys with six packs. I am a retired dancer and I also train athletes so I have been, shall we say exposed to that.

I really don't care what the man is wearing as long as it is neat and clean. Why on earth would I want to go out with someone who is wearing an old baseball cap advertising a feed store and a tee shirt or even a button down shirt that is wrinkled with stains on it?

All that is to say, that when a beer belly guy with some old work shirt steps to me online or in RL I push delete.

i get that. people should put their best foot forward.

. . .

You would think that was a no brainer!

Where are all the women that aren't as shallow as a mud puddle?

I second this...

Guess you both are attracted to the personality in a chick right a way. LMAO Please, men just can't stand to think that women also have eyes.

funny, but i know of fewer man that claim that personality is what matters than women.
bottom line is that physical attraction is important to both sexes.

. . .

Physical attraction has to be important. I know I don't wanna be with anyone or sleeping with that person if I"m not attracted to her body

that's what i've been saying. i don't care how great a person she is, if she's as round as she is tall i don't want to lay next to her or have sex with her.

call me an ass, it had to be said.

. . .

yeah, so why don't men think the same applies to them?

because we're not the ones running around preaching that personality is the most important feature.
and because i hear women say all the time that they don't mind a guy who's a little big.
when asked what they look for in a man, women usually say humor, confidence, personality. often they don't even mention looks. of if it's brought up they shrug it off like it doesn't really matter.
we all know it matters. we know it because we can see you turn your head around like the girl in the exorcist whenever a guy with a six pack goes by.
