Because, through the National Emergencies act, The executive can claim extraordinary powers and get away with crap like threatening Congress with Martial Law if they don't pass banker bailouts.

Sonic Weapons Used In Iraq Positioned At Congressional Town Hall Meetings

Miriam Raftery
East County Magazine
Saturday, September 12, 2009

“Long-range acoustic devices [LRADs] for crowd control can be extremely dangerous. These are used in Iraq to control insurgents. They can cause serious and lasting harm to humans…We want to know WHY our Sheriff Dept has this weapon,” Sal Magallanez of San Diego-based Liberty One Radio said in an e-mail sent to East County Magazine, prompting a joint investigation.

The device was stationed by San Diego County Sheriff deputies at a recent town hall forum hosted by Congresswoman Susan Davis (D-San Diego) in Spring Valley and at a subsequent town hall with Congressman Darrell Issa (R-San Diego). The Davis Rally drew an estimated 1,300-1,500 people, including vocal conservative and liberal protest groups.

A public records search conducted by East County Magazine has confirmed that the device is an LRAD 500-x manufactured by San Diego-based American Technology Corporation (ATC). Capable of use as an effective loudspeaker, the LRAD also has the ability to emit a deafening tone aimed at incapacitating and dispersing a crowd without use of lethal force.

“It’s very concerning,” Kevin Keenan, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, said. “ It is fine for the Sheriff’s Department to have new less-than-lethal weapons, but for their interactions with individuals these still-dangerous weapons need to be used only as substitutes for firearms. They can’t be used as just another tool on the tool belt. As we’ve seen with tasers and pepper spray, these types of weapons are being used to subdue people even though they pose the risk of serious physical harm.”

He added, “Even more concerning is having these weapons for public order policing. I can imagine no situation, or am not aware of any situation that’s ever happened in San Diego County or is likely to happen that would justify using these weapons for public order policing to control a crowd. The main effect of having those weapons at public events is to chill people and chill free speech and free association.”

LRADs were developed by ATC at the request of the U.S. Navy after the attack on the U.S.S. Cole as a means of dissuading hostile invaders. ATC founder Elwood “Woody” Norris is a pioneer in sound technology who has also been instrumental in development of ultra-sound and ground penetrating radar.

Cruise ship Captain Michael Groves successfully repelled pirates off the Somali coast using non-lethal weapons including an LRAD. Groves has since filed suit against Carnival Cruise Line, claiming he suffered permanent hearing loss as a result, the BBC has reported. Navy News describes the LRAD as “louder than a jet engine” and helpfully explains that it overwhelms its targets with “sound so loud they hear it inside their heads.”

ATC initially sold LRADs primarily to the U.S. military, but has since sold products internationally and domestically. The company and its representatives have not limited sales to military, maritime and law enforcement personnel, however. Local lifeguards and even Liberty One Radio are among potential customers to whom ATC’s sales force has attempted to peddle LRADs.

Liberty One Radio host Mike Copass, a former Democratic Congressional candidate who ran against Davis, tried to interview the Sheriff’s officer who appeared to be in charge of the device, which was mounted on a Rhino all-terrain vehicle. But Magallanez said the official “acted as if he didn’t know what it was.”

East County Magazine contacted Lieutenant Anthony Ray at the Lemon Grove sheriff substation. “I was the incident commander,” said Ray, who confirmed that the device was an LRAD but was not sure of the model. “It’s a really loud speaker,” he said, adding that the device is used to assure that announcements can be heard over the din of a crowd. “We’ll often use a helicopter, but this is something portable,” he explained. The device has also been present at a sand-castle building competition in Imperial Beach and could be deployed at any large event locally, since the Sheriff’s office is sometimes subcontracted by other cities within San Diego County to provide security.

Asked if he was aware that the device had a deterrent capability that includes a directed sound loud enough to cause hearing loss, he replied, “You mean like they use in Iraq? I can’t imagine we’d do that, because it would hurt our own people at the same time…I can’t believe that we would use the kind of thing on a crowd that the military does,” he said, adding that the deputy on the Rhino was not wearing protective earphones. “There were deputies right in front, too,” he observed, but added that he would have to “go home and look this up on Google” to learn more.

In an interview last week with newly appointed Sheriff Bill Gore, formerly the Undersheriff, East County Magazine posed the following questions about LRADs.

ECM: Crowd control has been in the news with the Francine Busby pepper spray incident. Now some have expressed concern after spotting long-range acoustical devices (LRADs) at Congressional members Susan Davis and Darrell Issa town hall forums on healthcare. We understand these devices can be used as loudspeakers, to avoid need for a helicopter to address large crowds—

GORE: That’s not the primary purpose.

ECM: They’re also called sonic cannons, capable of directing a deterrent sound. They’ve been used in IRAQ on insurgents and to repel pirates.

GORE: That’s a precaution in case you need it.

ECM: LRADs can cause permanent hearing loss and other health problems. What make and model LRAD do you have, what are the guidelines for when these may be used, what training is provided, and how can you assure that your deputies and innocent bystanders won’t be hurt?

GORE: Our deputies have the required training.

He indicated that he did not consider LRAD technology to be a non-lethal weapon, such as tasers and pepper spray, then deferred other questions on this topic pending results of a public records request submitted by ECM.

However, Defense Update, a British defense contracting publication, lists LRADs as “non-lethal directed energy weapons. The publication states: “LRAD works like a highly directional, high power megaphone, able to blast sounds (such as crowd-dispersal instructions in Arabic) in a narrow beam and with great clarity at a deafening 150 decibels (50 times the human threshold of pain). LRAD can also create deafening noises which can incapacitate people within 300 meters by “firing” short bursts of intense acoustic energy.”

An article from Atomic Scientists at describes the device’s “ear-piercing siren” and confirms it has been used by U.S. Marines in Fallujah. The device has also been used by New York City Police for crowd control during the Republican National Convention. A technology article at GovPro.com states that the LRAD system “transmits powerful deterrent tones, by which piercing sound can cause pain, nausea, disorientation and possibly even hearing damage.”

Our records search confirmed that the Sheriff’s Deparment purchased an LRAD 500-X and on-site training instruction for $37,500 on July 21, 2008 supplied by the Lorimar Group, which signed an LRAD reseller agreement with ATC in 2006. In responses to questions asking whether the deterrent sound feature has been deployed locally or whether any complaints of harm have been received, the Sheriff’s office responded that no such records are available.

The manufacturer’s specifications indicate that “The superior voice intelligibility and clarity of LRAD 500X provides a directional audio beam that can communicate with 100% intelligibility over 88 dB of background noise beyond 300 meters and capable of communicating over 2000 meters away in a benign environment. LRAD 500X operators have the ability to issue clear, authoritative verbal commands, followed with powerful deterrent tones to enhance response capabilities.” Moreover, the spec sheet indicates the device has a frequenty range of +/- 5dB over a 500 to 5kHz range, with a maximum volume of 148dB at 1 meter continuous and over 95 dB at 300 meters.

Ironically, the devices positioned at healthcare reform rallies hosted by Congressional members Susan Davis and Darrell Issa have the potential to cause serious health harm if its sonic crowd control feature is deployed, one medical professional informed East county Magazine. Dr. Mike Copass Sr. (father of radio personality Mike Copass) confirmed that “148 db, the max sound of the 500x ATC LRAD, will damage/destroy human hearing and damage, potentially, the brain.”

That detail hasn’t deterred sales. ATC media and industrial relations representative Robert Putnam informed Liberty One Media that “Business is looking really good.” He said thousands of LRAD models have been sold worldwide, hundreds have been sold in California, and that two or three units have been sold within San Diego County, but declined to release agency names.

At least one use of an LRAD deterrent sound system used against a civilian crowd of demonstrators by riot police in the former Soviet-block nation of Georgia has been recorded on video.

In an interview with East County Magazine, Putman initially denied that the Sheriff’s office had been sold an LRAD made by ATC. But when informed that Sheriff’s documents confirm the purchase, he said the company uses distributors—raising the question of how many more devices have been sold—and to whom. “ATC has 95% of the LRAD market which we helped create. Before, there was really no acoustic hailing and warning device,” he added.

Putnam objected to the term “sonic cannon”, responding, “It’s not a sound cannon. It gets their attention and hopefully gets them to comply.”

He also denied that the company’s LRADs can cause hearing problems or other health concerns. “No, not true,” he said. “You’d have to be in close proximity for several minutes in order to have any damage at all. If you willingly stand in that beam for an extended situation, then that’s your choice. There’s no way a large crowd would stay.” He said the company provides hands-on training to customers and has not had any lawsuits filed over damaged related to LRADs. The company is now offering a hand-held model, he added, which costs about $5,000 and can emit noise levels up to 135 dB. The device can also be adapted to have a high-powered light, infrared night vision, or the ability to translate commands into a foreign language.

Bullhorns are ineffective in large crowds, carrying only 20-25 yards and suffering distortion, he said. “With our LRAD, you are good to up to three kilometers. The 500-x is good for about a kilometer or a kilometer and a half.” Activation of the deterrent tone is a function of the volume control, not a separate switch, he confirmed. “But they are also highly directional, so people operating them don’t get anywhere near.”

He defended use of the technology as a non-lethal way to provide warnings and to prevent innocent people from being harmed, such as fishermen who venture too close to a military vessel, international border, or nuclear station. “The whole point is to save lives,” he said. “If you’re a bad guy and keep coming, or wear protective headgear and keep coming, then you know they are not there innocently and you ratchet up the response.”

He also revealed potential new domestic uses for the LRAD technology. “We are also excited to save wildlife,” Putnam said. “We are working on trial tests to clear birds out of runways because when a jet is taking off or landing, that’s when it is most vulnerable to a bird strike.” Such technology could potentially save passenger and crew lives as well. He also predicts the technology could be useful to prevent bird deaths from drinking tainted water at mining tailing ponds or flying into wind turbine blades at wind farms, as well as preventing damage to solar panels from bird defecations. Birds would not suffer damage unless exposed to the deterrent signal tone for several minutes, added.

Seattle Weekly has warned that an LRAD device could be “an extremely attractive implement of torture in the wrong hands—or an equally alluring engine of light terrorism in others. Imagine how easily a miscreant could trash any sort of outdoor gathering.”

That concern raises troubling questions about just how closely ATC screens potential buyers of its long-range acoustical devices.

San Diego Life Guard Mike Russell told Liberty One Radio that life guards were approached by ATC about purchasing an LRAD unit similar to the LRAD-500x seen at the Susan Davis rally. An ATC sales represented “tried to sell it to the Lifeguard service for focused warnings in the middle of crowds or in the water,” he recalled, adding that the equipment was not purchased due to the high cost.

Asked by East County Magazine whether the sales rep disclosed the unit’s weapons capacity, Russell replied, “I was just told that it could be used “like an audio laser-beam” to speak to an individual or small group up to 300 yards away, without disturbing the people all along the beach. This seemed like great potential, people entering ripc urrents, or even in rip currents, could be communicated with, without disturbing the rest of the beach with the traditional loud speakers.” He added, “I wasn’t informed about any dangers to hearing, but I was just listening to the sales pitch guy indirectly…Perhaps the senior staff were informed.” A call to a senior lifeguard official was not returned by press deadline.

Liberty One Media (a politically progressive media outlet currently posting podcasts online while raising funds to purchase a broadcast station) sent an e-mail to ATC inquiring about purchasing an LRAD for use at concerts. The manufacturer sent sales literature, including a technical specification sheet, without warning about potential weapons usage—or inquiring about backgrounds of those seeking to purchase the product.

The ACLU’s local director voiced serious concerns over ATC’s efforts to market acoustic weapons to lifeguards and radio stations. “I think it’s inappropriate for commercial or private use, “ Keenan concluded. “There should be laws restricting it to law enforcement or military purposes.”

Sheen Challenges 9/11 Truth Debunkers To Larry King Live Debate

“We’re not hiding,” states Sheen as he calls out McCain, Hannity, Limbaugh and O’Reilly

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Friday, September 11, 2009

Appearing on The Alex Jones Show today to discuss his video address to Barack Obama, Charlie Sheen has challenged those who have publicly attacked him for speaking out on 9/11, particularly Meghan McCain, Rush Limbaugh Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly, to debate him on CNN’s Larry King Live.

Following the publication of Sheen’s “20 Minutes With The President,” a fictionalized account of a meeting with Barack Obama in which Sheen implores the President to reopen the investigation of 9/11 in light of the majority of the 9/11 Commission members publicly denouncing the official story as a deception, McCain attacked Sheen on ABC’s top rated show The View, comparing people who question 9/11 with holocaust deniers.

“I quoted Charlie Sheen yesterday about his experience with prostitutes, so really you’re the one I should be listening to about 9/11?… I am not going to take my political advice from Charlie Sheen,” stated McCain, daughter of the former Republican nominee John McCain.

McCain’s sophomoric reliance on attacking Sheen on the foundation of decades old events in his personal life, while failing to address even one of the 20 pieces of evidence raised in his letter to Obama, is typical of the media response to Sheen’s challenge thus far.

Amongst the scoffers and debunkers, not one corporate media outfit has managed to actually address a single point Sheen raised in his letter, resorting instead to childish quips and badly researched proclamations.

A familiar theme arising out of such hit pieces is an effort to imply that Sheen’s questioning of the official 9/11 story is somehow an “outrage” and hurtful to the family members of the victims, despite the fact that the majority of victims’ family members share the same questions.

Furthermore, claiming that people who doubt the government story are on a par with holocaust deniers completely ignores the fact that six of the ten 9/11 Commission members, along with scores of other highly credible former and current government officials, intelligence professionals, military officials, scientists, structural engineers and architects, and legal scholars have all publicly questioned the official version of events behind September 11.

Fox News talking heads Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, as well as popular radio host Rush Limbaugh, have also attempted to attack Sheen’s credibility while failing to discuss any of the subjects he actually raised.

In response, Sheen told The Alex Jones Show that he is challenging any one or all of McCain, Hannity, Limbaugh or O’Reilly to a debate about 9/11 on CNN’s Larry King Live or any other television show in Los Angeles, adding that the show must be broadcast live to prevent bias editing.

Should the debate go ahead, Sheen will be accompanied by Bob Mcilvaine, a 9/11 families representative who lost his son Robert in the attacks. Sheen suggested that his adversary in the debate be accompanied by representatives from Popular Mechanics, who have routinely sought to debunk questions surrounding 9/11.

“Let’s do it,” Sheen told the Alex Jones Show Friday, “I issue the challenge to debate Meghan McCain, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, bring them all, Bob Mcilvaine and I will join you on Larry King Live and you guys bring whatever you’ve got….and we’ll show up with the truth and we’ll just see how it goes – we’re not hiding,” added Sheen.

Watch the clip of Sheen making the challenge on today’s Alex Jones Show below.

Bush knew - what he knew. People make all kinds of charges with out a spice of facts. There are two things about 9/11.
The architectures and structural engenders designed a structure that would stand for four hours, not fifteen minute after a plain crashed into it but the new York City cancel changed the spices.

After Bush was sworn in the Democrats in the senate did every thing they could to keep Bush and his administration from getting
Straitened out and start looking for things like 9/11.

The architectures and structural engenders designed a structure that would stand for four hours, not fifteen minute after a plain crashed into it but the new York City cancel changed the spices.

Ummm... thats not true.

WTC Construction Manager: Towers Were Designed to Take Numerous Plane Crashes.

Frank A. DeMartini, Manager, WTC Construction and Project Management, discusses the fact that the WTC towers were designed to take multiple hits from airliners and not collapse, comparing it to poking a pencil through fly netting, DeMartini was adament that the towers would not collapse. DeMartini died in the towers on 9/11, this interview clip was taken from video shot in January 2001.

So now the Dem's are totally responsible for 9/11, because they didn't let Bush get untracked? Need I remind you that prior to 9/11 Bush had spent something like a 1/3 of his time on vacation?

Now, I know that the left had their folks who knew something was up, like Biden meeting with the head of the Pakistani ISI, who was known to have ordered the wiring of 100,000$ to Atta.

However, 9/11 isn't a left or a right issue, because that profile is a manipulated scam. It's a Freedom vs. Tyranny issue, and those who want their Global elitist system are the ones to look at when placing blame for 9/11, that includes Cheney, Bush, Rumesfeld, but it also includes Biden, Brzezinski, Clinton, Emmanuel.

Yeah, okay, but Obama's poll numbers are still pretty high. Lets see them fall and his having continued difficulty pushing his agenda through and then we'll see what happens.

Why were all these investigations stopped whenever someone like this guy or John O'neil got close to Bin Laden?

Informant says FBI threw away chance to catch alleged 9/11 plotter

By Raw Story

Published: September 10, 2009

A Lebanon-native who pretended to be an Islamic extremist at the behest of American authorities claims that the FBI took him off the trail of alleged 9/11 plotter Mohammed Atta right as a window of opportunity opened to catch him.

Were it not for the FBI’s action, the informant says he is “one million percent positive” the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks could have been prevented.

The claims are part of an ABC News report, set to air on Thursday’s editions of World News Tonight and Nightline.

An advance story published on ABC’s Web site notes:

[36-year-old Elie] Assaad, who posed as ‘Mohammed’ – a personal representative of Osama bin Laden, says he’s a “million percent positive” the 9/11 attacks could have been stopped if the FBI had gone after Atta and Shukrujumah. But because Atta and his men were suspicious of the FBI undercover operative, and secretive, Assaad says his FBI agent handlers sent him after the easier target – two wannabe terrorists whose cases were easy to crack and who were both eventually convicted and sent to prison.

“I was right, I was a hundred percent right,” Assaad says of his suspicions. He says that when he learned that Atta was one of the 9/11 hijackers, when the FBI asked if he could identify any of the attackers, he was “very upset, angry” and cried.
The network also notes criticism of Assaad by defense attorneys for men who they say he entrapped.

But the informant dismisses the knocks to his credibility. “When you are working undercover, your job is to lie,” he told ABC.

This video is from ABC’s Nightline, broadcast Sept. 10, 2009.

The '93 bombing of the WTC and the Cole were done by who again, the same group that are known CIA assets.

Bin Laden has been after the U.S. since the 70's is that why we supported, trained and funded him and his crew during the afghan war with the Soviets?

Is that why Sibel Edmonds, former translator for the FBI, broke her gag order and revealed that Bin Laden remained a paid for asset all the way up to 9/11?

As for the "sneaking around" planting bombs (Thermate), I refer you to this:

9/11 Security
Courtesy of Marvin Bush

Marvin P. Bush, the president’s younger brother, was a principal in a company called Securacom that provided security for the World Trade Center, United Airlines, and Dulles International Airport. The company, Burns noted, was backed by KuwAm, a Kuwaiti-American investment firm on whose board Marvin Burns also served.

According to its present CEO, Barry McDaniel, the company had an ongoing contract to handle security at the World Trade Center "up to the day the buildings fell down."

The company lists as government clients "the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S Air force, and the Department of Justice," in projects that "often require state-of-the-art security solutions for classified or high-risk government sites."

Stratesec (Securacom) differs from other security companies which separate the function of consultant from that of service provider. The company defines itself as a "single-source" provider of "end-to-end" security services, including everything from diagnosis of existing systems to hiring subcontractors to installing video and electronic equipment. It also provides armored vehicles and security guards.

The Dulles Internation contract is another matter. Dulles is regarded as "absolutely a sensitive airport," according to security consultant Wayne Black, head of a Florida-based security firm, due to its location, size, and the number of international carriers it serves.

Black has not heard of Stratesec, but responds that for one company to handle security for both airports and airlines is somewhat unusual. It is also delicate for a security firm serving international facilities to be so interlinked with a foreign-owned company: "Somebody knew somebody," he suggested, or the contract would have been more closely scrutinized.

As Black points out, "when you [a company] have a security contract, you know the inner workings of everything." And if another company is linked with the security company, then "What's on your computer is on their computer." [American Reporter]

A heightened WTC security alert was lifted on 9/6/2001...

The World Trade Center was destroyed just days after a heightened security alert was lifted at the landmark 110-story towers, security personnel said yesterday [September 11]. Daria Coard, 37, a guard at Tower One, said the security detail had been working 12-hour shifts for the past two weeks because of numerous phone threats. But on Thursday [September 6], bomb-sniffing dogs were abruptly removed. [NY Newsday]

...there was a power down in WTC 2 the weekend before 9/11...

On the weekend of 9/8, 9/9 there was a 'power down' condition in WTC tower 2, the south tower. This power down condition meant there was no electrical supply for approx 36 hrs from floor 50 up... "Of course without power there were no security cameras, no security locks on doors and many, many 'engineers' coming in and out of the tower." [WingTV]

...Bush's cousin had a fortunate change of venue for a September 11 business conference...

President Bush's cousin should have been in the World Trade Centre when it was attacked. Jim Pierce, managing director of AON Corporations, had arranged a business conference on the 105th floor of the South Tower where its New York offices were based. But his group was too large so they decided to move across the street to the Millennium Hotel. [Annova]

...and it just so happens that Marvin was in New York on 9/11.

---------------------------------------------------------------
Gosh, so one of the most obvious targets for the scary boogeyman, one which he seems to have a fix for, which had been hit by bombs before... and no bomb sniffing dogs and a power down of security equipment?
You go ahead and believe that these guys, some of which aren't even dead, flew planes into buildings. 19 guys, taking orders from some freddy krueger-esque figure in a cave, defeated, all on their own, our multibillion dollar air defense system.

They couldn't remove the evidence of thermate in the rubble, even though they did there very best to have it placed in the dump and into potholes before investigators could have a go at it.

Iraq, btw, had nothing to do with 9/11, Afghanistan was not about oil, but about poppy and having a platform for expanding occupation in the middle east. Is it any coincidence that heroin use has almost tripled in this country?

Never mind the money, it's all about power.

As far as no one arrested, thats bull, there were quite a few people arrested, Israeli's celebrating while taping the planes flying into buildings, people being arrested on the G. Washington bridge, with a van full of explosives. Tell me why those folks were released?

sabotage? The Beastie boys?

sure why not, life needs a soundtrack and "sabotage" seems like it'd fit.

Did you bother to watch the interview of Barry Jennings?

Will anyone who trumpets the fable known as the 9/11 comission report take a minute and see exactly what guys like Jennings and William Rodriguez have had to say?

I mean honestly, these guys were there, in the buildings...

Yup, terrorisim. laugh

yeah I just went and found the mechanics of how the terrorism brought it down

seems like Structure Magazine would be a pretty reliable source for explaining how a buiding fell down

I agree. One affects the other, if it werent for the other two having problems, then 7 wouldnt have gone down right? That is what I read in those links right?

I feel no matter what it was.. conspiracy is left field. GRASSY NOLE!! GRASSY NOLE!!!

Just finished reading the structure magazine pdf... one column fails and building 7, built with repeated redundancies, falls free fall speed, into it's own footprint?

Did physics simply take a vacation from Ground zero on 9/11/01?

Terrorisim.

Sorry, but I, for one second, don't buy that. Not for all the federal reserve notes in existance.

Building 7 didn't get hit by a plane, nor did it sustain heavy damage from the Towers collapse or from fire.

So lets be a little more specific shall we. What caused building 7's structure to fail so extensively that it fell, at free fall speed, into it's own footprint?

I got an idea, why don't we ask former New York city OEM Emergency coordinator Barry Jennings (RIP) just what trapped him in building 7 for several hours?

I too, wonder who is authorizing all the money BHO is wasting on TV commercials. What public service comes from a commercial with comedian George Lopez. BHO quote,"Late Night is a change I can believe in." Tell me, where is the public served here?

I don't barely even see any commercials for the healthcare change but I am berated with the anti healthcare.

It is such a waste of good money.

It is a shame.

MSM has to find a way to make money somehow, since they're losing viewers hand over fist, due to their bias and poor investigative cred.

do you think the U.S. government could ever allow the world to know that in fact the U.S. government was behind 9/11 - not a chance - many of us believe the U.S. had a hand in 9/11, but we'll have to wait until all truth is uncovered to know for sure - and believe me that day is coming...

I agree. It took some 50 years for the truth to come out about WWI and WWII, so it'll be an interesting couple decades ahead, I'm sure.

Seriously, we don't even know the full story of what happened to JFK.

“Stop the 9-11 cover-up”

Russia Today
Friday, Sept 11th, 2009

American citizens are pounding the streets, still searching for answers because the official version of the 9/11events has failed to satisfy many people, and there are calls for a fresh investigation into the tragedy.

The push for another investigation into the 9/11 attacks grows larger with each passing year, particularly today when the US is commemorating the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, which claimed almost three thousand lives.

Manuel Badillo’s uncle died when the Twin Towers came down. He believes the US leaders had prior knowledge of the impending attacks but consciously failed to act.

He asks, “Why was there no justice yet? Why is there no accountability?”

Badillo is among roughly 80,000 New Yorkers petitioning for a new, impartial, probe to answer the questions many believe state and federal officials are failing to address.

Manuel Badillo says, “The majority of family members do not believe the story. First responders do not believe what they were told by the government. All of this turned out to be lies, what we have been told. 60% of the commissioners do not believe the story they received.”

Critics say the 9/11 Commission Report, presented as the official version of events, failed to hold a single individual accountable for the numerous warnings leading up to, on and after September 11.

The NYC Coalition of Accountability Now (CAN) is an organization that is focused on getting a referendum during this November’s mayoral election, to allow New Yorkers the chance to vote for a new 9/11 investigation.

“It’s absolutely essential for the world, for the well-being of the world, that we understand why 9/11 occurred; who was behind it,” says Ted Walter, executive director of CAN. “Because if we have a false understanding, we’re going to be basing policies on that false understanding.”

Pressure’s even coming from the west coast – Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen has written a 15-page public letter to the president calling for another 9/11 inquiry.

But a move like Sheen’s can be quite a gamble in the domain of American public opinion. Just ask Van Jones, Obama’s former ‘green jobs tsar’. He stepped down because of hysteria over his support for and association with 9/11 truth-finders.

“Van Jones should have stuck to his feelings and to his democratic actions that he took, and his intuition, because the majority of Americans, the majority of New Yorkers, all the polls show it, know the government did not tell us the entire story about 9/11,” says Manuel Badillo.

Eight years ago all New Yorkers were standing shoulder-to-shoulder on the day nearly three thousand people perished from terrorist attacks. Now the citizens are standing on one side, police officers on the other, and many are asking for accountability, a demand from which these Americans refuse to back off.

We're just not going to agree here, All year, we hear about 9/11, but when someone asks a serious question, it's pushed aside as disrespectful to the families. Big problem is the majority of the families want a new investigation and are part of the truth movement.
So are they being disrespectful too?

You're right, its the anniversary of their deaths, 8 years later, still in Iraq, still in Afghanistan, Bombing the crap out of parts of Pakistan and what do we have to show for it?

The investigation is full of lies, cover ups, and no Bin Laden. Plus, our civil liberties are in just as much danger now as they ever were under the Bush-Cheney folks. Nothing has changed other than the name.

So what did those people in the Towers, Pentagon and planes die for?

When is it appropriate?

If you ask me, then 364 days a year, with the exception of this one. That might be only my opinion though.

I don't get it I guess.

The truth movement is bad mouthed and they routinely have their free speech rights violated throughout the year, but they're also demonized for not respecting the dead on the one day that their message is the most pertinent?

I'm with Atlantis on this one, War. It's all about respect for the dead today. To talk about the politics of it, takes the attention away from the ones that left us. It's a day for remembering them.flowerforyou

Who gives them more respect, those who spit out a bunch of rhetoric and catch phrases or the ones who go out, question the lies and use that platform to see that the list of the dead doesn't continue to grow, by providing funds for first responders to get healthcare and get in the face of those politicians who have lied or block the continued care of those damaged by Whitman and Guiliani lying about the safety of the air.

I'll lay my support behind the Truth Movement, who take action, do whats right.

If you are to be the President tommorow and had a Congress where all members will absolutely work for you without any contradictions, what would your very first important task be on your first week at work?

Now think about this for a moment. A task that is most important and in dire need for the people.

Start the process of bringing home all the troops from overseas and begin an investigation of where did the bailouts go. I would also begin to work to give a financial amnesty to people who just can't pay their bills anymore and instead of giving 800 billion dollars to giant banks, I would have fairly distributed in government checks to all US citizens, who has paid taxes in the past. Go spend it, pay off your bills and credit cards of use it as a down payment on a car or whatever, because the consumers are the only ones who can stimulate the economy. Eventually the money would come back to the treasury and the banks about 10 times the value as it was given out.

I would also give a legislation that banks cannot foreclose on you if you have made payments and you can't pay it now, because of loss of job or lessened work hours by your employer. I would also freeze the interest rates on credit cards and think up a similar legislation like the housing bill.

Some real good ones there.

As a diehard Cowboys fan, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say: I like the Falcons chances this season.

Not that I like the Raiders, but by adding Ellis and if they can get Seymour to play, they could be dangerous.
