If you are to be the President tommorow and had a Congress where all members will absolutely work for you without any contradictions, what would your very first important task be on your first week at work?

Now think about this for a moment. A task that is most important and in dire need for the people.

So many things.

I'd start by abolishing the Federal Reserve, which would also mean an end to the IRS.

Start the process of bringing home all the troops from overseas and begin an investigation of where did the bailouts go. I would also begin to work to give a financial amnesty to people who just can't pay their bills anymore and instead of giving 800 billion dollars to giant banks, I would have fairly distributed in government checks to all US citizens, who has paid taxes in the past. Go spend it, pay off your bills and credit cards of use it as a down payment on a car or whatever, because the consumers are the only ones who can stimulate the economy. Eventually the money would come back to the treasury and the banks about 10 times the value as it was given out.

I would also give a legislation that banks cannot foreclose on you if you have made payments and you can't pay it now, because of loss of job or lessened work hours by your employer. I would also freeze the interest rates on credit cards and think up a similar legislation like the housing bill.

" what would your very first important task be on your first week at work? "

First your asking what we would do, ^

"A task that is most important and in dire need for the people."

Then is seems as though you tell us what to do ^

But to answer your question, Id still fire everyone around me and bring in new.
then id pick up all the lazy people and send them off to some 3rd world country.

Joking , No clue what i would do but that sounded almost ok to me

am i not right? Others might think it's crazy but let's do some math;

United States statistics (population)

According to the US Cencus Bureau's 2007 Estimates 227,719,424 who are 18 and over, and US citizens live today in USA.

Source : http://www.census.gov/

800 billion :

800,000,000,000

Math:

800,000,000,000 / 227,719,424 = $3513.09 per citizen

Now, who wouldn't just like to have 3513.00 dollars? Because that's how much they have given away (multiply it by 800 billion) to a couple of banks recently.

Now Imagine if you are a couple (18 and over) you get 2x3513 not to mention if you kids over 18 they also get that money. So a family for example (a couple and two 18 year old kids) would get :

3513 x 4 = 14,052 dollars!

I also would shut down the fed and IRS, and I would also put term limits on all members of congress. I would also put people to work for the USA to round up all the illegals and send them home. We could put 1 million people to work just doing that!

'rounding up ' the illegals is not a good business. It's like nazi gestapo work.

Instead, give them an anmesty time to come forward and pay a penalty for breaking the law (let's say 3000 dollars, which can be paid by monthly payments) in exchange of work permit and temporary drivers' license. (they can apply for green card, but back at the end of the line of the applications already in by honest immigrants)

After the amnesty is up (6-7months) and there are still illegals who did not pay the fine and running around without papers, then they are subject to arrest and deportation.

I didn't say Kill them, just send them home and if they want to come here they can do it legal like.

What about education and the health care?

I understand in this country some find education and health a privilige and I also understand that others find it a neccessity for everyone.

I will never forget when on the presidential campaign Mccain mentioned that health is a privilige and when Obama had a chance to address the issue he said it is a neccessity for everyone and not a privilige. This teaches one to be careful with the choice of words one uses when making a speech or answering a question from the crowd.

Now whatever it is for the people here, it would interest me on how you would tackle as the President with a 100% backing of Congress to resolve the health and education system to ensure that everyone can get a fair take on it?

Now of course this only applies to those who feel that the education and health system needs to be fixed. If you believe it is fine how it is then just ignore the questions. laugh

Raise the wages of the teachers but also make the teacher (professional degree) diploma harder.
Can't flunk out of high school and it's mandatory to pass and graduate it, otherwise the kid is gonna end up retaking each year until he passes (I don't care if he graduates at age 40, but at least he isn't an idiot)

colleges and universities are fine with the level of education, it just needs to be more accessable for more, so give more government grants for students and advise the support for more non-profit grant givers and (here is my idea), make a lot of science/math/biology/etc competition shows with students competing for university waivers instead of "who wants to be a millionaire" or "teen idol" and other similar crap on TV.

I just want to mention a system that is interesting in my country that concerns a education possiblity for the US to stimulate the economy and even provide better products and service as a whole to compete with the market as we know it today.

If the idea is acceptable or good for the USA is up for everyone to decide, but the quality of service I do see in difference when I look at my country and this country.

There is a significant difference from experience.

Now in my country people who don't finish high school can go and take a 3 year apprenticeship.

This 3 year apprenticeship is for the labor work force we know it around the world. Anything from baker, gardener, construction, waiter, cook, retail, trash disposal, etc. etc.

The apprenticeship only starts when you have reached the 10th grade and decide you don't want to go to college or university.

They take a 3 year apprenticeship and go to a actual work environment to learn under a certified master for three years. They usually work 3 days a week and go to school 2 days a week for 3 years.

From there they take an written, verbal, and physical exam of their chosen profession. If they pass they get a certificate from the commerce of chamber indicating they can actually work that profession.

The quality of work and service is significantly better with this system. In otherwords customer complaints are at a minimal.

When your car is fixed, you can bet on it that it is fixed and not go back a week later.

When you get information on how to fix a roof, you get professional help and not be hurried off to look at aisle 3 at a home depot trying to figure out how to fix your roof.

If you buy a product you are to get a product that works and not some fake stuff that ruins your printer. It happened to me for the product was tampered with.

and so forth as the list can grow long.

Now after 2 years working at the job being certified you can go to a management school for 2 years that is paid for you.

By the way the apprenticeship you are paid also. Not huge wages, but enough to stay afloat until you have the certificate earned after 3 years of studying.

Now if you pass the management you can attain masters we call it.

If you decide you want to go back to college or university then you have to catch up with the years you missed, but can use some of the credits you attained at your apprenticeship if you have the certificate to gain your high school diploma. We call it Abitur. laugh

I say this for many professions over here in the states that you have to pay for offers 2 weeks of study only. For example a bartender certificate only takes 2 weeks! So now you have a certificate to bartend after only 2 weeks of study without even working somewhere first. This doesn't work in my country. One goes 3 years and yes for good reason. There is much to learn in every profession. Not just a little to where you can barely offer a good service or give professional advice.

Well anyway this is something that could help stimulate this economy if it was given a try.

The good old fashioned apprenticeship system that has been practiced in Europe for a long time. laugh

Now if it would work with the system here in the states is another discussion to figure out and besides it is only worth discussion if Americans want a different alternative.

Considering almost all has been done for recession recovery that can be thought up to do. I would say make a Universal Healthcare plan that makes sure everyone has access to healthcare no matter their life circumstances.

Second, would be to end the illegal war in Iraq as quickly as possible, which may already be happening now, I don't know the legistics of how quickly it can be done. Reassessment of our Afghanistan military action there and all other troop involvment elsewhere in the world.

Oh you said one huh? Oops well that would be priority and then we could work on other issues

I actually think that is a great program or design. We have some similarities here. You can go and get a high school equivalency or GED but only if you are over 18, it you are under 18 you must still try for your high school diploma but they do offer classes that are not all day and will allow you to work if you want to at the alternative schools. As for training programs, they have some at the unemployment offices, some at the Mayor's office of employment but for the most part you have to go to school and get a certificate for whatever it is you want to do. Grants may be available otherwise you have to pay either by a loan or by payments.

I'd round up all the crooked Politicians and intern them for life. Give them some seeds and animals. Charge them a pecentage of what they raise for their keep.
When they are no longer useful to their society, euthanasia would be an option.
If they injure themselves or get sick, put 'em on a waiting list.
If there is a vaccine that needed testing, test them with it. Volluntarily, of course. If they refuse to vollunteer, raise their taxation.
Allow them to vollunteer for military service. Limit them to mine-field testing jobs.

Restore the Articles of Confederation, scrap the Constitution and all the laws created since its inception and start from scratch with freedom. :)
