Again, its just characteristics, like when a black comedian, like Richard Pryor does "white people"..so "proper" and act so nieve in so many ways and an upper class prosona. it's HYSTARICAL! because most of us can relate to those in every culture.

Like Cheech Marron. he is hilarious in the Cheech and Chong movies, he plays that part incredibly well. then to watch him on Jeopardy, the man is a freakin GENIOUS! But he "plays" the cultural roles and sterotypes for being Hispanic.

Sorry have not seen the movie, so not sure what exactly you refer to...but do trust your judgement, you do always have good solid views.

About the only one I can possibly comment on, would be the last and only from a guess viewpoint in a comical sense.

MAYBE (not saying at all for sure) they were just using a "typical characteristic" that is prominent in that culture. Many comedians do it in a humorous way. But the best way to make sure it goes over is by making sure no ethnic group is left out. Me, being a cracker, I make sure that I am actually more on the "white jokes" than any other, because I try not to seem I am going after any one particular group.

We ALL have traits we can laugh at. Most jokes I will do are done using myself as the target. But then, can;t resist an open shot to hopefully make someone laugh with an "off the wall" opportunity (just like in that other thread we just had).

Even then, it can still come off wrong. So that is just a theory. You would know better the intent since you have seen the movie. but just guessing, since its actually ethnic correct, that Latinos do average a shorter height (about 5'8" isn't it?) they MAY have just been doing a play on that.

Hmmm "normal"?? I don;t even like thinking of that word anymore. Too many bad things have become "normal". So I think that would depend on the person's definition.

Well I think its much better to be able to laugh. And many times that means a quick wit, which means forms of intelligence. Some of the greatest comics are genious.

So you might want to at least talk to him. The first guy in this thread that has shown signs of humor life.

I understand. I believe things like that exist, i personally see them as "gifts"..those of which I simply do not possess.
