What gave you the idea that I’m in need of perfection?
I’ve sinned before and it will happen again

My heart becomes a howling wolf
Perched atop a stony cliff
Screaming into the wood
Every breath venting my mood
Slowly consumed by the beast
Every howl ripped from my chest
Screaming, declaring “Aloooooooone,
Aloooooone, Alooooone.”
Strychnine laced traps scattered ‘round
The woman knows of the danger
But how long before the wolf takes over?

Smoke drifts across the room
A shadow separates from the gloom
Heads turn as she passes
She smiles as she pretends not to notice

Smoke drifts across the bar
She orders a whiskey sour
Eyes widen as she drinks it down
The girl holds enough liquor to make a fish drown

Smoke drifts through the air
As they silently see who dares
To approach this temptress of the night
And who she goes home with tonight

Smoke drifts across the scene
As a handsome stranger buys her a drink
Out on the dance floor, she glides along
The air’s electric, the tension strong

Smoke drifts through the night
Lust fills him and her timings right
They leave together, go to his car
She knows a place that’s not too far

Smoke drifts across the room
As he lies in bed, waiting in the gloom
She’s taken his keys, so quietly
And drives away in his car, laughing gaily

Smoke drifts across his eyes
As he realized who and why said goodbye
Was her best friend’s car before it was his
And he took it when he called it splits

To be honest this is more posts than I really expected
And with your support I'm really quite flattered
Most of you are so good and can write so darn MUCH
Its amazing to see that it left me a little hushed

I'll try to turn rash impulse into flight
A flight not away from what I've found
But rather towards it, feet leaving the ground
I'll fall a few times, put my feet in my mouth
Maybe that's why I need wings to tell you the truth
So I have a way to keep going when something is stuck
I may not have grace but I'v always had pluck
This is the most writing I've done in years
I stopped for a long time, succummed to my fears
Time to rediscover my wings, covered in scales and leather
Stretching them out to find what I can discover

But right now I'm practicing the impundence of youth
I'm feeling a bit impish on this rainy spring night
Must mean there's a thunderstorm coming tonight
So I'm plunging in headlong in my peculiar type way
And encouraging other to come have a say
After all there's safety in numbers though not for lemmings
And I'm shy but bullheaded a paradox most perplexing
