I been to graceland too. Like he said, once is enough. I liked the mud museum and that bridge over the mississippi is really pretty at night. If you go during the day it should be okay, its the only time its open anyway! Pay the extra for a nice hotel with a view of the bridge over the water at night.

I lived in california for awhile, and I have a friend that lives in Bakersfield. She does contract work too. The pay is good but to go anywhere nice you have to do some driving. 3- 4 hours to San Francisco(thats where the cow palace is). But if you like weekend excursions your close to a lot of stuff.
Yosemite is one of a kind. The huge redwoods! Mountains to climb, Rivers to raft. Depends on what you like to do! Your pretty close to the grand canyon. The desert is really pretty in the spring. Any direction from there and you can have a different kind of experience. Do it!

I been to the big Island and had a great time. My favorite was night snorkling with the manta rays, just plain awesome!
I wish we had some foresight and took water and flashlights when we went to the volcano. I never got to see the hot molten lava. Next time I am definately taking one of those helicopter tours in the evening.
