Ich bin auch Deutsch, aber wohne shon sehr lange in then USA.
Alle meine Familie ist aber immer noch in Deutschland; so besuche ich mein Heimatland oft.
Hoffentlich ist mein Deutsch noch lesbar. Ich habe nicht oft Gelegenheit es auszuprobieren.

it was a boy from another town on the other side of a river. There was only a pedestrian bridge and you could carry your bike up the stairs and ride accross. I remember he kissed me and got my address somehow and sent me a card. I never saw him again. He had red hair and everybody teased me for a while...

unseen by many; the innocent bleed under clear blue skies

silent screams echo through the emptiness of space whithin many;
heard but ignored to protect the nagging concience we suppress
practiced over centuries to isolate the select few that survive

memories change to palatable images within our complex minds
denial is our protector that helps us be blind to suffering
distance is the safety net to numb the feelings of compassion
avoid the tragedies of violence to remain blissfully ignorant

real or imagined facets hide behind open eyes of mistrust
clear human voices immortalize negative ideations of the future
common sense has sought labyrinths of reasoning; convolution
persistant pain chips away the veneer of civilisation we project

I know it's a made up Holiday
but I don't care one bit
I want to celebrate love
you don't have to commit

if we have made love and kissed
a bunch of flowers would not be a miss
neither would candy and a sweet card
and jewelry would be a definate start

you do want to be passionate
to minimize rejection
on a day such as this...
presents are protection

just think how I would feel
I'm conditioned to expect
and if you really love me
your supposed to protect

it's not a million dollars
it's affirmation of your love
and you know us women like that
so don't forget the above

I may forgive you if you do
but its a Holiday for lovers
and I'll be thinking of that too
when we get underneith the covers
