Now to downplay my last poem lol, here is a poem I wrote entitled: When You Left, ironically though I was in a good relationship at the time. So I do not know where the inspiration came from, but it did.


When You Left

Forsaken, Forgotten did you to me
when I proposed
to be with thee.
That was when you departed
from me.
In so it became
forever ago
you left me,
and
the idea of "we" behind.
Now you return
and
expect “us” to be,
but foreign you became to me.
Forgotten and abandon
did the idea of "we"
became to me;
so long ago
when I first proposed the idea of "you and me ".
Now you are sad
and full of regret.
For we can never be;
as I have found another
that is actually willing
to be mine.
So
now you know the truth of
what love can be:
Forever:
Forsaken
Forgotten
Abandon  
Just like you did to me
and the idea of "we"
all those years ago

Well thought of could, it could use a few breaks or periods though, so the reader can take each line in, just as you intended. Good job and keep writing!

Thank you all, this was my first poem when I started to officially write poetry. Here is another poem I wrote it's called The 50th Wedding Anniversary. My Sophomore year of High school, I took speech class and we had to write a toast or a short speech for a formal occasion. I don't recall if we had to dress up,but it was fun none the less. I was given the topic of a 50th Anniversary, so I decided to write a poem. My girlfriend's first name at the time was Melissa...but little did I know that was also my teacher's first name as well. So you can imagine the look on her face after I finished reading this poem.

 
50th Anniversary Poem

My Darling
My Bride
For 50 fantastic years
you have been my beautiful wife.
Like Rebekah
for Isaac
God has chosen
you for me
and for 50 amazing years
we have lived happily and content
and still
so madly in love
like Romeo and Juliet
we defied all
for the sake of true love
and even after 50 years.
My love still burns
for you and God alone.
My darling
My pride
My Precious One
I look forward to sharing 50 years more
with you by my side.

It is a cycle of Loneliness I go through; for a time, I will be right with God ignoring the longing of my heart for someone to love. Everything in my world will seem right, even though friends will ask "how can I guy like me be single?" To which I often reply I do not know, but God has a plan."
But as soon as more then a days worth of free time comes by my heart goes to war against my self-control and starts longing like crazy. On the worst of nights leaving me in tears with much pleading prayers of forgiveness and dread. But then of course the sun comes up and God reminds me:

“For I know the plans, I have for you,”
declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you,plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

"The LORD works out everything for his own ends--even the wicked for a day of disaster."

Well first I find it slightly ironic that the title "stop looking for love" would be found on a dating site lol. But then I took a closer look and read your post to which I say well said sir!
We are recognized by the world to be Christians by the way we love each other and others.

The finish is always better when it is made with your integrity and faith not only intact but grown as a result.
