Familiarity breeds contempt

Familiarity breeds contempt is an ancient quote going back to a Syrian slave, 50 BC.
In long term romantic relationships like marriage, how would you stop this from happening in yourself and from your partner? You see each other's faults and all the wonderful strengths too. Does love cover a multitude of flaws in each of you? I would love to hear from people who have had long term relationships or even marriage. |

"Terrorism" is almost cliche now! The term "terrorist" also doesn't shake us up, as much! What is this world heading towards? Destruction and not construction? Or is it construction of a sinister world order! Of late, during the (religious) festivities in this part of the sub-continent, there have been incidents of targeted killings of religious minorities in Bangladesh. The state is doing it's best to control the volatile situation. Kashmir, in India is also seeing targeted killings of religious minorities! And this is not just in this part of the world. We have such incidents in almost every part of the world today - targeted killings of minorities - religious, ethnic or any other. What is the aim of such terrorizing a section of the population? Political gains? Or is there more to it? Hi Kevin, it seems like much of what you have mentioned is extreme religious intolerance. History is abound with it and I doubt it will stop. If you banish religion, it will just go underground, so I think there is no solution here. |

what about the professional " mourners".... could that be in the same category .... ??? Yeah that, bit strange. There is a man in Australia who you hire before you die, to go to your funeral. He tells hometruths by the deceased to the ones at your funeral. Like if someone gets up to speak, he will stand up and say "The deceased has asked you to leave his funeral. He knows about the affair you had with his wife." Gutsy!! I love this!!!! Lol I saw a fb post asking for someone to dress covered in black and stand mourning from a far at their funeral so people would think they had some mysterious thing going on in life. I saw that too, I wonder if she has ever been approached by someone wondering who she was? |

I would be ok with being paid to be company for someone -no physical stuff -just someone to talk to -do stuff with... I would get fired for being too quiet, though There are some people who enjoy dominating a conversation, or hearing the sound of their own voice. They would come to you. Just be a great listener |

Dancing flames held in skyward hands, moving in unison. Swayed by the rhythm that has no polarity. Old Glory hoisted high with pride from coast-to-coast, tattering in the wind. Swayed by a deceitful storm sweeping the land. Pines and oaks standing side-by-side, flex in synchronous motion. Swaying in a gentle calming breeze. People of all walks, shoulder-to-shoulder, singing loud, maybe off-key but in harmony, sway with the guidance of our better angels. I really like this, lovely metaphors. Political? I was forming a poem in my head about swaying to the river's song and then you posted this. |

With the camera representing XII on the imaginary horizontal clock..... Turn torso almost 90 degrees so (depending on "good side") L shoulder is at 11 o'clock or R shoulder is at 1 o'clock. Turn face toward shoulder that is closest to camera so the corner of that eye is even with but does not cross the plane of your collar bone. Now act like somebody said something super funny then close your teeth to hide your suspended tongue without letting the corners of your mouth droop. .....now try to look natural Lmho. The Rulebook on how to smile. |
