It pisses me off when people just give an opinion, without being asked one, and they do it thinking they know what a person is going through (and obviously they have no idea). So they give their opinion (and of course they are judgemental too) and put themselves on a pedestal as being big, super stars of an example.

Every person is so different from each other and so are people´s lives and experiences. I´m really fed up with those who tell me I could do this and that and have NO IDEA what they´re talking about!!!

I was wondering what is your word for "querer"

In my country some people tend to make a difference between "amar" (love) and "querer". I just don´t know if you call this verb "want". In my language the verb "querer" works this way: you can want a new car, and we would say that with that verb (yo quiero un nuevo auto). and we can also tell a person "te quiero" and that means you care about that person. It is not as strong as using the verb "love".

Another question: When you say to a person "I want you" does that mean you want that person in a sexual way or is it just a feeling which would be less intense than "love"???

I agree with Blueeyes, not everybody takes the time to get to know people and then judge them. I used to get a first impression from others and even though I didn´t judge them by that, I was hardly ever wrong. Time proved me I was right most of the time... I just don´t know what happened to that "gift" or "6th sense". (Sure it would have come in handy when I met my last boyfriend, who was a jerk!!)

I know I´m not supposed to... that was the joke about... sorry, that´s the Argentinian humour in me :(

I agree with Kartagane: it´s kind of confusing and frustrating when two people want to become friends and sex gets in the way. Personally, I´m quite straightforward and I would tell the other person right away what my intentions are: if to become friends I would say so or I would rather say that with my actions, you know, not playing games like many women do (I completely understand why some men complain at that games)

Maybe it´s because of tha that i haven´t got any friends at all... anyway, Kartagane and Leigh; you should consider yourserlves very lucky to have had such wonderful friendships... i would have liked to have a strong friendship like that

An I congratulate singmesweet for bringing up such an interesting topic. It´s nice to read so many different opinions and experiences. I guess now we should call it "Does friendship between a man and a woman exist?" . I know many of you will mention the "physical" aspect and the sexual desire. Many people I know think that friendship between a man and a woman exists only if the man doesn´t feel atttarcted by the woman, or only after they had sex. I think that´s pretty sad, I mean, it´s like Mg1959 just wrote above: I get the feeling that men just beahve as animals who want to have sex with just every woman that comes in their way.

I never had a man for a best friend, not because I couldn´t stay friends but only because I bnever had the chance to be friends with a man.
