Maybe I just think differently to other people but if it were me I would listen, talk it through and give him another chance. Realistically this man made a mistake and owned up admitting everything. By the sounds of him he seems honest, he felt bad and I don't know many guys that would say straight out that they were with another woman. It's still early stages so it's up to you what you decide. Maybe you will all think I'm an idiot for saying this, but hey that's just me. Good luck |

Move to Canada, US or Oz??

Hi Chloe, Health care is good in Canada comparably. However things are slowly changing to a three tier health care system over the last ten years or so in the province I live in. Even so all provinces are under the umbrella of federal government of Canada. For example in the province I live in privitization is moving in. Private providers of personal health care plan options, where people can choose to buy their own coverage plan or, go through their work health care plan where deductions are made off your pay. Even so with the changes I have found we still do have a very good health care system(s) in this province and across the country where a high percentage of medical costs are covered by your plan provider you chose or through the place of employment plan provider. Here are some facts on Toronto you may want to check out facts which I think may be a good city to live in to start with. I do not live in Toronto but have visited there. Though housing costs are among the top five in the county, there are places to rent. You may want to move into a shared rental situation with three or four other singles which financial helps when starting out is an idea. Choosing a larger city to start has the advantage of more jobs opportunites to get work experience on your CV or resume whichever the case for you while learning about Canada saving money to relocate at a later date into i.e. a smaller city. This gives you time to check out things from the inside, while living in the Country. Facts on the City of Toronto: ttp://www.math.toronto.edu/toronto/ I have heard there is a large young Irish population growing in Toronto in the last couple of years. It may have something to do with Toronto having a Catholic ArchBishop that was given the role of Cardinal in the last year. So, if you are Catholic being Irish you may be though protestant too, and if Catholic this may make your transition easier. Coming from a small town this may bring you comfort after reading your reaction to the size of Texas' city populations that, Toronto having a very large population has very many suburbs to pick from to live in, giving a person a small town feel. It is as well a very multi-cultural city where some suburbs are many of one cultural ethnic group making the adjustment even more easy if you find an Irish community to settle into. Just throwing out some thoughts not knowing you but things which may make a difference. In regards to teaching and applying for jobs, you may want to check out first International Educational Equivalency Standards. For example, if your University degree from Ireland is equivalent to University Teaching degree in Canada or, in the US or for Australia if you decide on the later two countries. Here are some links for teaching jobs in Toronto (I googled "Are teachers needed in Torono Ontario") and many links populated from the search. Here are three as samples: http://www.oxfordlearning.com/careers/ http://ca.indeed.com/Teacher-jobs-in-Toronto,-ON http://www.simplyhired.ca/a/jobs/list/q-teaching+positions/l-toronto,+on Big decision in life to make Chloe as to, where do I want to live? Good luck and keep getting a lot of good consultation from many sources before you make your final decision. Thanks a million for your reply. It was well thought out, it must have taken you ages!! Everyone keeps talking about Health Care. I didn't think it was such a big issue? At the moment I have a friend in Toronto that's been sending me some info and just telling me different things about the place in general. From what I've been told, you can apply for a Health Card once you're 3 months over their? Over here it's pretty expensive for Doctors too but sure if you're sick you'll have to pay I guess that's just the way it is. Thank god I'm rarely ever sick. I haven't looked into the job situation that much to be honest. I'm the kinda person that puts things off till last minute. I have been told that my certificates are recognised in Australia so I'm just assuming that they're recognised in Canada. I will look into that as soon as I get a chance. Ideally Social Care or Teaching is what I want to be doing (that's the big dream lol) But if I can't get a job in either of those areas straight away then I don't mind other jobs. As I have experience in Hotel, Restaurant, Bar Work and a few others I'm sure I'll find something to keep me going. Their are Travel Companies in Dublin that I've been in contact with. You pay them and they set up a job for you and get Visa's sorted. So if all comes to all I can just pay them to sort it all out for me. |

Move to Texas. The rest of the world is overrated. i second this motion (that's two votes for texas) Why Texas? A wee bit more info would go a long way please Houston has one of the best economies in the US right now, and as a state, Texas is in the top 5 for jobs and overall fun... Austin is really booming right now too, which might be a better fit for you, as it is a major college town. Dallas and San Antonio have some of the largest population booms in the US, they both are ranked in the top ten fastest growing US cities. (or their suburbs are)... what kind of work do you do? if anything to do with gas and oil, Houston would be a good fit for you. I can work as; Pre School Teacher (kindergarten) Primary School Teacher (elementary) [Teaching kids up to 10 years old] Kids with disabilities Adults with disabilities Youth Advocate (working with troubled teens) I'm qualified to work in any of these areas. Thanks for the reply Teaching profession is being cut back right now, I think everywhere in the USA. Just don't tell anyone if I'm wrong about that! i think you may be wrong, even the government is giving extra grant money for students to become educators. they do need teachers out here, in some places more than others. i think the states just don't pay enough for people to put up with the politics involved with it. but what i have heard from friends that are teachers is that the lower the grade they teach, the better and easier it is. I nknow i would never even try to teach high schoolers out here, because of their attitude... That's true! Although kids are a handful at the best of times, it is SO much easier with younger kids. If you come to TX with that sexy Irish lilt, I imagine you won't be single long! Lilt Although I've been known for doing the Riverdance after a few too many Would that qualify? |

How much do you tip?

Usually around €20 if there's a good few people at the table. It doesn't matter how much you tip (over here) cause it's all divided equally between all the waiters at the end of the night. I used to waitress and I'm telling you their is some serious money to be made, but damn it is actually a tough job! |

I haven't been on in awhile but I've always been able to rely on my online friends for advice...and boy do I need some now. Dilemma: Ya know that registry app you can get for your computer or phone that tells you about the sex offenders around your area? Well.... I discovered one and it blew me away. I work with him! I've been trying to figure out just what he did but I can't find that info out. I know some people get falsely accused, or whatever.... So, since i'm sometimes in this little office ALONE with this guy, I would REALLY like to know the specifics here. I've thought about going to my boss about it, but they have worked together for 20 plus years. (They are actually at lunch together now) Anyone? Help???? |

I'm hoping to move abroad, either September/October or November. (this will depend on my graduation ceremony) As most of you are from US or Canada, any thoughts/opinions on this?? RE: Easy to find work, People, Expensive to live, Night Life etc etc... If you come to Canada bring lots of money and warm clothing. LOL thanks!! Money won't be an issue. And as for the weather, sometimes we get all four seasons in one day over here so I'm well used to bad weather. |
