I've used the ACE bandages when a case was occurring and when there wasn't to take stress off of my knee, but I do a lot of dancing, hiking, and running so it kind of defeats the purpose. Also tried knee pads to cushion impact.

Gays are only gay because Obama allows it.

And scientific studies have linked homophobia with homosexual arousal.
:wink:

Random question of the day....

I'm an extremely active person, but I have issues with prepatellar bursitis (housemaid's knee) and was wondering if there were any ways to prevent aggravating the knee without cutting too much into my activities.

@Jrbogie

Once again, I'll throw it out there that I'm just trying to understand the aspects of this issue. No one on here actually knows my own stance on the subject as I have not posted it.
If you wish to call me a Nazi, at least take a minute to gain an idea of my actual opinion instead of what you assume from what is a learning experience for me. rofl

Can you make a decent profit on selling your own art?

Yes. You just have to produce a lot. The higher the quality of your products, the more you can charge. Painters and photos can have their stuff printed on a large scale and sell a whole lot of products at a low price. (which DeGrazia did)

I use a charcoal medium to make shattered images anywhere from post card sized to that of a wall and each one takes less than a day to make no matter what the size. I just don't know if those are popular enough to really grab anyone's attention.

@Spidercmb

Commonness of genetic diseases can vary with each grouping, for example...In the muscular dystrophy grouping Myotonic affects about 30,000 people and Duchenne's Muscular affects about 8,000 while there are types of dystrophy that are so rare they only affect less than 800 people.

The severity of these diseases can range to such acute symptoms that they can't leave the hospital to mild retardation, muscle weakness, or atypical motor skills.

Still, genetic diseases affect millions worldwide, altogether, if you put them altogether it's not uncommon.

@Spidercmb (I know it's a bit late to reply)

What I meant earlier was that if a woman has a genetic disease and winds up pregnant through whatever means, it increases the risk that their children will inherit the faulty gene and be either carriers or those affected by it. In the long run, if those women were banned from aborting, we would be increasing the likelihood of children born with genetic diseases and therefore reliant on government aid.

The kinds of diseases (genetic) I am talking about are those like

Muscular Dystrophies of the various types,
Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1
Spinal Bulbar Muscular Atrophy
Paramyotonia Congenita
Central Core Disease
Nemaline Myopathy
Etc..

@Msharmony, I know we already went over this, I'm just clarifying.

I'm not trying to butt heads with you this time Msharmony, though I did enjoy our last debate, it was quite awesome.

On this subject I'm really just trying to understand all points of the matter better as this is a topic I'm not well informed about.

nor am I I was offering what I consider similar logic to the suggestion that assistance clients be denied the ability to create more children that they 'cant take care of'

along that logic, I Thought maybe we should keep injured and disabled people from moving about, so they wont suffer more injuries they cant afford,,,,

in all seriousness though, my real passion is about BALANCE in place of absolutes when necessary

in the case of those who honestly 'cant' look after themself, I would think a medical decision would be required to make the determination and in that case contraceptive measures also prescribed,,, instead of abortion after the fact

Thanks for clearing that up, I didn't quite understand. :smile:

@Gearhead,

What would we be doing with the people who can't take care of themselves due to health problems?

As in if the mother were disabled, the father would take responsibility?

what is wrong with a disabled parents child?

Nothing, the question I was asking was on how the situation would be handled if a parent with a genetic disease passed down their disease to their child through inheritance.

I'm trying to understand how the responsibility factor for that kind of situation would be handled and distributed.

My uncle was very much like your son, very feminine or metrosexual as my friends and family call it. He was also raised in an environment dominated by women and that was why he picked up those tendencies, but he isn't gay. Also, after he moved out and got on his own two feet, he lost a lot of those more feminine behaviors.

On a side note, even if your son is gay and not just metro, hating him for it or telling him it's wrong is only going to make him feel like crap and put him into a situation where he is going to be more prone to depression or worse. Not saying that you're doing that or anything.

If he's old enough, you should just simply talk to him about it to find out if he really is gay or not. Or if homosexuality is utterly abominable to you, don't ask don't tell.

If a strict Pro-Life policy was put in place and women in the U.S. were banned from getting abortions, where would that put the United States in the future? Since the Pro-Life stance seems to be mostly a Republican based theme, wouldn't it be a little conflicting to the other Republican supported idea of cutting into/eliminating welfare programs?

I mean, if it was truly and utterly pro-life, then that means that women that had genetic physical or psychological disabilities wouldn't be able to abort and that would increase the number of children born with those disabilities in the long-term. And if those children grew up and were unable to function in society and were unable to get care from families for one reason or another, they would be reliant on welfare programs and need more taxpayer dollars to support them.

I'm just curious. what

All I want to see are people in the office who know what it is to be the Americans who slip through the cracks. To be the family pulling garbage out of store dumpsters because food banks aren't cutting it for the need and they don't qualify for welfare aid programs. Or what it's like to be a psychologically or physically damaged person incapable of handling the responsibilities of childbearing and/or rearing yet be unable to get an abortion due to a state's opinion that they have a right to force women to give birth.

Sorry if that was long winded. oops

It's not stalker until they're calling you four or five times in a row and doing the heavy breathing thing, and that's really pre-stalker-ish in comparison to a full blown one. sad2
