Sorry, but it sounds like she was trying to tell you she wasn't
interested. No harm in trying, of course...I hear that "the beautiful
people" are often lonely because the other "beautiful people" are too
shallow (or preoccupied staring at themselves), and we "mere mortals"
are afraid to approach them.

Each site has it's own flavor...and you need to hold that in mind. I
even have some military sites (gee, imagine that? LOL!)

TexasGal has good advice ~ take heed. Avoid the out of country people
who hit you up here...they're up to no good. Spammers, users, con
artists, etc. Stick with what you know...

I do the obvious:

I never open e-mail in my private inboxes from senders that are unknown
to me.

Advice from an "elder"...

Make friends, make alliances, exchange e-mail and IMs, keep your options
open, and smile (because you never know when the guy in the next car
might be diggin' ya).

You're far too young to be closing doors! Whenever a door like that
closes, throw back the covers, jump out of bed, run and throw open the
front door and holler, 'NEXT!!!" at the top of your lungs! Even if the
next playmate doesn't step up right away, all your neighbors will know
you haven't stopped living...

exchange thoughts and hear other people's views.

If I had a "wish list", it would be very simple:

I'd like to be able to upload maybe 5 or 10 pictures (no swinging meat
or peach fuzz) where a member could keep some of those photos
private...only to be shared in private e-mail as the sender cares to
share.

KB, 'mankind' labeled the Animal Kingdom 'lesser', not I. I believe
that we are only 'different', yet the same...

How can you look into the eyes of an animal that loves you, is curious
about and sensitive to YOUR moods and feelings, and not believe that it
doesn't have a soul?

Most people can't communicate with the souls of other species, but some
of us can. I've been blessed with an inate ability to understand
animals...some pets, some "trophies" (such as zoo or sanctuary animals),
some wild. Perhaps that is why I am so involved in animal rescue.
Sometimes people choose pets that are not the correct pet for them...and
they are later discarded or ignored/neglected. People like myself are
pained to see these animals ~ hostages/victims of the poor choices of
misinformed people ~ and we try to rehabilitate and later play
"matchmaker" in finding the proper home or sanctuary for each animal
needing one. Locating adoptable animals and finding "forever homes" for
them is not "what I do, it's WHO I AM". It's no different that matching
adoptees to adoptive homes. I can't NOT help!

Yes, I believe animals have souls. What's more...I know that I have
one, and as the "higher, more evolved species", it's my duty to help the
lessers that can't help themselves.

Sweetie, I have no "wisdom" ~ only life experience. The place I was
born, the family I was born into, the friends I've chosen, the paths
I've traveled...each of us creates our own unique "tapestry" of life
lessons.

I am not done learning those lessons yet, and hope I never quench my
thirst for more...

People, and their "tapestries" fascinate me, which is why I am here and
on other e-groups. To hear of the paths others have chosen and how
those choices impacted them...to hear the experience of others and draw
knowledge from that ~ life is a learning experience, like reading a book
with no ending. I can't wait to turn the next page!

Remember, I am older than the average person here. What seems like
wisdom is just more days on the life calendar!
