-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: FW: warning Subject: warning Date: Sat, 30 Sep 2006 14:40:10 +0000 VERY IMPORTANT WARNING Please Be Extremely Careful especially if using internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning direct from both Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet. You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power Point presentation "Life is beautiful." If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately. If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful." Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password. This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the antivirus software's are not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself "life owner.! PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS EMAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS and ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY. _______________________________________________________________________ The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material. Any review, retransmission, dissemination or other use of, or taking of any action in reliance upon, this information by persons or entities other than the intended recipient is prohibited. If you received this in error, please contact the sender and delete the material from any computer. _______________________________________________________________________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message. According to urbanlegends.com :
Making the email rounds again, this bogus alert purporting to originate from Microsoft and Norton Antivirus claims that a PowerPoint file titled "Life Is Beautiful.pps" contains a destructive computer virus and shouldn't be opened under any circumstances. Oddly enough, hundreds of thousands of people have received this warning over the past three years, but I have yet to hear a single report of anyone encountering the malicious file itself. Could that be because it doesn't exist? I add: People need to check the validity of this stuff before forwarding it and posting it. The majority of these warnings are pure garbage. Check the stuff by doing an internet search or go to www.snopes.com or something. I understand that you're trying to help, but it's so simple to verify this stuff. |

THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO. SO THAT YOU CAN COPY IT AND SEND IT TO
FAMILY AND FRIENDS. EXAMPLE: HIGHLIGHT EVERYTHING. THEN RIGHT CLICK AND COPY. THEN COMPOSE IT TO WHO YOU WANT TO SEND IT TO. WHEN YOU COMPOSE YOU WOULD NEED TO RIGHT CLICK AND PASTE. THEN JUST SEND IT AND FORWARD IT IF NECESSARILY. ANY QUESTIONS JUST REPLY HERE. |

Uh...I'm not expert..but I do know that Hotmail scans anything for
viruses before you can DL it... but I'm with Kat on this one... |
|
|

are doing is just looking out and I want to say thanks |

"Uh...I'm not expert..but I do know that Hotmail scans anything for viruses before you can DL it".. It only works for e-mail attachments peachie, if the virus is the general body of the e-mail, yer screwed. |

Usa is right...I went searching for one confirmed report of this virus
and no ones heard of it. And when I say searched, I mean hit up all the usual hacker, ripper and warez sites and talked to people who do make, handle and hunt down actual destructive viruses...Virii? Whatever... Bottom line is this is about as real as "The Hook Handed Serial Killer", or any other urban legend. -=x |
