First off, that sounds like a horrible experience and I'm sorry that you had to go through that.
If I were looking at it from his perspective; I would say that when you told him you weren't looking for a relationship and then he saw that you reposted your profile, it probably just really hurt his feelings a lot. Kind of like a spit in the face (although you were honest and it was just a misunderstanding).
His testimonial was unwarranted, but perhaps it made him feel better to send it.

I don't believe that he was actually asking you to change your profile per say (there is nothing wrong with it) but it was his way of insulting you...telling you to warn people about your personality.
