20th straight day of work...
|
|
Dude.... Thats f-ing nuts. For a WAL-MART gift card???? I hope you might be getting a job out of this for the love of god. No, I get time and half for all hours over 40 a week. The gift cards were a perk to try and get more people to work the OT. Most of us hit 30+ bucks an hour for OT. The best part about winning gift cards is this: they don't get hit with taxes. No one would work those kind of hours just for gift cards. That'd be insane for sure. |

20th straight day of work...

Hi,
What's the longest stretch of working you've ever done without a day off? so far, I've gone 20 days and will probably hit 30 before this is done. I'm hiting approx 25 hours a week over-time. The overtime is voluntary. In fact, they are even running contests to get people to work it. Two weeks ago, I won 150 bucks in Walmart gift cards! |

I got one.
A while ago I dated a woman that had a unique son. This kid (at ten) was a math genius. he also had an odd way of putting things. When it rained, he'd say: The clouds are passing water! |

Hi,
So you're on the 'dreaded' first date with someone you barely know. All is going great, food's good, conversation is nice, everything has a nice feel to it: And then, out of nowhere, comes the curve ball that messes the whole thing up. Mine went like this: She looks at me across the table, i'm liking how the candle light bounces off her blue eyes. She says:"so, we're dating, right?" I said: "Yeah, this is our first date..." Then, WHAMMO! SHE SAID: "Good! Here's copies of my utility bills so you can pay them for me. Men should pay for everything..." needless to say, there was no second date. lol What's your story? |

Is Everyone A Child of God?

I think every child is born a child of god.
What happens after that depends on the raising of the child until it can decide for itself which direction it wishes to go. "it doesn't matter if you believe in God or not as God believes in you." -anonymous. |

I'd say that one of the biggest changes is in the area of communication. We have more ways to communicate and so little patience when doing so.
I think people as a whole have gotten more rude over time. When i go shopping, I see so many cashiers get the heads chewed when they tell people how much their total is only to have the customer yell at them:'Excuse me! can't you see i'm on the phone???" Granted, if i don't say something, someone else usually does, to the effect of..."and you are not the only one in line..." changes for the good: The Cuyahoga River in Cleveland is no longer flamable and seldon do you find 2 or 3 headed perch and walleye. the ability to make snow is better than it was in the 70's. |

What to say in first email
|
|
I wouldn't take email too seriously. You will never be able to guess all the reasons for no reply, or an uninterested one. Some guys deal in volume, a zillion outgoing emails may garner you the 1% return rate that regular mail ads usually collect. Methinks, whatever you say, say it with heart, and not an agenda. Gals can read between the lines. Trying too hard to be clever or cute can backfire. Keep it simple, true, and if you can inject any humor, it is always appreciated. The advice to roam amd participate in the forums is golden. Seeing who you really are, may generate emails coming YOUR way. I think we can sell you :-) Sounds like good advice to me! |

Hi,
when i checked my info, it said there is 1 person who wants to meet me. How do i find out who that person is? thank you! -Mark |

Yeah, those are some good ones.
Back when, i worked for the Red Barn Restaurant chain (it was like a KFC with better food.) the number of times people would ask me: "How many pieces of chicken are in a 18 piece..." |

Giving new meaning to the term "animal magnetism." LMAO!!! I never thought of that! |
