Is everyone a child of God?
Becoming a Child of God Galatians 3:26-27 (KJV) says, "For you are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." All of us want to be children of God, but it is our faith in Christ that leads us to become children of God. This verse also tells us how our faith leads us to be children of God. It says, "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." The word for as used in this scripture is a preposition, which means for the purpose of or in order to be. Therefore, we are baptized for the purpose of or in order to be God's children. To be a child of God and part of His family, we must be born into His family. Our Lord said in John 3:3, "Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven." Then He tells us how being born again takes place in John 3:5, "Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." When one is born again by being baptized into Christ he becomes a child of God. We might ask the question, "If I had to prove that I was a child of God in order to get into heaven, could I do it?" Only those who are God's children will inherit heaven. In 1 Peter 1:4 we read "To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you." Are you eligible for that inheritance? Have you become a child of God by being baptized into Christ? If you haven't then you have no inheritance in heaven. You will inherit eternal punishment. Why would anyone in their right mind not want to be a child of God? Has your faith led you to be baptized, so that you can become a child of God? If not then you are not a child of God. To be a child of God, our faith must be a faith that will accept and do all that the Lord tells us to do. It must be an obedient faith, because God says in James 2:17,20 & 24, "Thus also faith, by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." "But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?" "You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only." We are not saved by "faith only". If our faith is not one of action, it is a dead faith. A dead faith will do us no good on the day of judgment. This is the only place in the Bible that speaks of "faith only". Here it does not commend it, but rather condemns it. It also refers to one who believes in "faith only" as "O foolish man." "Determine your salvation" Lesson 16 www.bible.ca |

Could you describe Baptism used in your post Cerise. Jesus said: ---> Luk_12:50, "But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!" It is the Baptism into Christ. A new birth takes place by the Word of God. The heart is convicted. The old man is put to death. The spirit is born and renewed. ---> Rom_6:3, "Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? ---> Gal_3:27, For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." The Spirit washes and maintains us by the renewing or regenerating of our spirit by the Word of God. ---> Eph_5:26 "That He [Christ] might sanctify and cleanse it [the Church] with the washing of water by the word," - Apostle Paul - It is the baptism foretold by John the Baptist. It can give the believer boldness and great compassion. ---> Jer_20:9, "Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay." ---> Matthew 3:11 "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:" - John The Baptist - |

I think every child is born a child of god.
What happens after that depends on the raising of the child until it can decide for itself which direction it wishes to go. "it doesn't matter if you believe in God or not as God believes in you." -anonymous. |

if the question is posed, "is everyone a child of GOD?"...
then the truth of the matter is -no-. hello, it is because of GOD's tender mercies that i exist. and it is because He loves us so that He shares His truths to those who sincerely seek His wisdom. therefore it is with love and respect to all who might read this that i gladly share this. now, allow me to say this. the LORD is a mighty powerful Creator and a most loving merciful GOD. He has created everything. and in that creation we as humans fall under that catagory. hence we are all creatures or human beings but only those who truly believe in the Messiah and the Creator God are His children. God is a god of love but He's also a god of justice. it is His justice that will matter in the end. let us seek Him with a contrite heart and become one of His children. be blessed. |

yes everyone is a beloved child of GOD... Thank you, Noella101, for sharing your thoughts with us. You have a very beautiful child in the pic with you. Our responsibility as Christian parents is to teach them what the Word of God says. Teach them about Jesus. Teach them to trust, praise, and honor the Lord God with their lives. To some degree, their salvation is in our hands. "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 The story of Hannah is an example of putting our children in God's hands and directing them toward serving Him and not the world. That beautiful story begins in I Samuel 1:2 Blessings to you and yours : CeriseRose |

Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven." Then He tells us how being born again takes place in John 3:5,
"Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." When one is born again by being baptized into Christ he becomes a child of God. PTL....that as children of God we can be assured of entering the kingdon of heaven when we die, and will forever be with God our Father FOREVER!!!! I met my husband 3 yrs. ago on Mingle. We were married and then this past Feb. he went to be with the Lord. I thought we'd have a wonderful christian life together, but God had other plans. Richard reassured me before he died many times that he'd meet me up there hanging out just to the right of the pearly gates, and I was to meet him there. My pastor had a vision of Jesus on a chariot riding to the gate and Richard was waving down at me saying "I'll see you up here" and was whisked away by Jesus. Then the phone rang and it was me telling his wife that Richard had just passed away. |
